2. Thanks, Elsewhere....
Funny you mention the guy in the wifebeater...he sure gave me a funny look as he pedaled by me, like he thought I was doing some kind of surveillance on him or something. He WAS a bit rough around the edges. :scared: Can you see the tattoo on his arm?

By the way, I really enjoyed the pictures of the babies by the stream. Is that you in those photos? Those babies are twins? They're really, really cute.

6. I hope so.
I've started a bunch of seeds in the house, but they looks so spindly and pathetic -- and I think I've killed half of them trying to harden them off too soon -- I don't know if they'll make it or not. I may have to break down and buy starts after all...budget be damned.

The mountains look like yours, but the valleys are GREEN, it is an amazing contrast. Weather will be nice through Weds. 70s :D

9. We're going to Alyeska tomorrow.
They have a fabulous Mothers Day brunch at the 7 Glaciers Restaurant, which is at the top of the mountain, so HullBoss is taking me and his mom. I always love the tram ride up, and the view is spectacular. I've got my fingers crossed for some nice weather.

10. I'm drooling...
If the weather is bad, you can just take pictures of the food. That will do.

Have fun and Happy Mother's Day. I put in an order for more Sebastian pictures. :hi:

11. The food was wonderful...
but about halfway up the mountainside to the restaurant we got into a whiteout snowstorm. I was kind of disappointed because the tram ride was included in the cost of the brunch. If we want to go up there on a clear day, without a restaurant reservation, it's 18 bucks a piece for the ride. Yikes. A lot to pay just for a few photos, beautiful though they may be.

12. Looks like it was still breathtaking from what can be seen through the tram window!
Lovely, Beautiful Alaska!
Will be greening up soon with the longer days...

I love the Matanuska/Susitna Valley area. Do you go up there?

Also there's that gorgeous valley north between Healy and Nenana....I think it's the Tanana valley.
Awesome wildflowers!

O! And BTW, Blue!

13. Thanks, Whoa.
 Oh, yes, we love the Mat-Su. We'll probably be spending quite a bit of time up there this summer since it's close. Gas prices (and our truck's not-so-great gas mileage) are kind of putting a damper on long trips, but we're lucky to have so much gorgeous scenery right around here, Mat-Su to the north and the Kenai Peninsula to the south.

Winter's just really hanging on, though, this year. It's only 42 now, gray and chilly. I'm dying to get my garden in, but it's just too cold. I guess it's La Nina or something that's keeping the chill on.
