The Canon S5 IS
is a big hit with the DH. It's taking really great pics. He took this one:

I took this through the (kinda dirty) window and while it isn't the best, it still did pretty dang good!

It does well with video, too. The DH threw a grass snake in the chicken pen and hilarity ensued!
(He accidentally clicked the shutter about 3/4 of the way through this.)

1. Who knew weeds could be so pretty?
:) Call me weird, but I always love to see the dandelions in the spring because they're the first things that bloom around here. The chickweed, not so much.

2. Actually
the chickweed is very pretty growing up in mounds around the base of the house. I'm not so much on the dandelions usually but I welcome even them for a spot of color after our very brown and depressing OK winters. :hi:

3. We have a constant battle pulling chickweed out of the flower
beds. I've actually heard that if you've got a good crop of chickweed it means your soil is healthy, so I guess it's a good thing, but I spend a lot of time each summer pulling it up since I won't use any chemicals. Chickweed and raspberry canes creeping over from my neighbors' yards keep me really busy during the summer.

4. Then I can understand that!
We're the same with bermuda grass! And don't use chems, either. This year we went to square foot gardening and put down weed barrier and cedar mulch.
