Question here. Everytime you talk about photoshopping a pic,
does that mean you all own that expensive software? If not, could you enlighten me? Thanks.

1. I can't speak for all, but when I talk about it
I just mean it was digitally modified somehow. I do own Photoshop CS and got it for less than $300.00 per an educator's discount if I remember correctly.

3. No Not at all. GIMP and others are free
Photoshop is widely available cheaper than it's apparent cost.

6. Depends on what you mean
Basic photo color correction and cropping can be done on many cheap photo editors. I use iPhoto, which comes free with every Mac. Some printers come with bbasic ones. Most digital Cameras come with one (some very crappy user interface). I also have Photoshop, which can alter photos to great degrees depending on your skill level with it. Photoshop Elements 4 is only $90, and has about 90% of what the major Photoshop CS can provide for you. The windows version also has an album program like iPhoto for the Mac.

The term "photoshopping" is much broader than just pasting Bushie's face on a Horse's ass... but that can be fun too!:D

7. I use GIMP ...

Essentially as powerful as Photoshop (actually moreso, if you know how to write scripts for it) and free.

It's a bit of chore to learn how to use, but it's worth it.

8. I use Photoshop Elements 3.0
$79 download. And I also grabbed a few plug-ins, most importantly some from www.earthboundlight.com, adds "Channel Mixer", "Curves", "Layer Mask", and other essential tools that they left out to cripple Elements to force you to shell out the big bucks but -- ha ha -- we got them anyway! And they're free.
