Look what I found in my backyard

I've lived in this place for over 5 years now and I have never seen my alligators do this. They don't mind sharing the dock and I've had up to five lined up across it but I've never seen them just lay on top of one another. This pair sat like this for almost half an hour and of course were too lazy to move when I went down to take their picture. At first, I thought they were mating but then I realized they were in opposite directions.

2. Cool Capture!
Ever have any run-ins with the gators? I would think that gators would be more snappy to one another than to lie together in such a "cute" way.

5. Rule #1
Never underestimate a gator.

However, if you respect them, for the most part they will have little interest in you. I can actually get within 10 feet and feel comfortable. However, I try to disturb them as little as possible. What's the point?

You are correct about the 'snappy' behavior. That's why I freaked out when I saw them yesterday. At first I thought they were mating but they were in the wrong direction for that. They stayed like that for about a half hour. These two share the dock all the time. but I've never seen them do this sort of thing!

I guess I'll have more of these

in the spring.

3. NICE picture
But scary too. I don't suppose you have many feral cats or stray dogs in your neighborhood...

6. Thanks
Actually cats do okay, but i'st the dogs that get nailed all the time. What sucks is that they will kill any gator that attacks a dog. Most of the time the gator is just doing what comes natural and it's the _________ pet owner who is the problem.

4. I reallly like that photo
I think you can even make it better with a simple crop and slight sharpening. Like this.

Where do you live? Florida?

8. Was that Friday or Saturday night?
If it was Friday night, I lost it because of a virus. If it was Saturday, it might be on my slideshow from that weekend. The pictures from the bar are towards the end of the slideshow. Tell me if you came out in any of the photos.

11. Awesome slideshow, RIM! Thanks for the memories! I
wasn't there, the protests were practically nonexistent on the tube (plus Rita roared into TX that weekend), so I'm glad I got to see these.

12. Saturday night
I'm the one along the side of the table with our backs to the window in black with black hair. Next to the younger woman in the white tank top.

Thanks for the links, I missed seeing your pics the first time around.
