Bach's Chaconne
After hearing Christopher Lydon's program on the Chaconne, I added it to my list of Bach favorites:

1. Freekin' hard piece to play!
I can barely play his cello music (on guitar).

2. Incredibly difficult.
The Bach Unaccompanied Sonatas and Partitas (six in all with several movements each) are quite difficult. Some of them are playable if you can handle double stops.

Some of them fry your brain. The D minor Chaconne definitely bakes your brain and your fingers.

3. I'm just wondering,
and maybe this will seem nitpicking, but since that piece is not in the French style, why call it a "chaconne"?

Bach used the Italian term "Ciaconna".

:nopity:

I couldn't resist putting that smiley in here!
