how's everybody doing in here? how about a thread with something good?
or a good thing/ bad thing thread?

good thing- my daughter is starting to come around, and realize how mean she has been. she gave me the longest hug the other day. (did i post this already?) we're gonna get a tattoo together next week.
bad thing- i am dog sitting for her little mouthy mutt for 4 days. i would kill it, but there would go the good thing.

anybody else?
i have a good thing about someone else- beth is tirelessly digging all the bullshit media coverage on dr ivins out into the open. it smells worse when you face is in it.
hope she has a good thing to go with that.

1. here's a good
my sister, who had a really, really bad year and a half, has turned herself around, gotten into her top choice college, gotten almost a full scholarship, and is moving to Mass. in the next week.

My family couldn't be more thrilled.

:woohoo:

I'm glad your daughter is doing well!

2. i finally live in a house that doesn't make me hate everything
i have space, light, a yard, closets, a bathtub...everything i have been missing for the past three years. i was suffocating at that place and i feel so much lighter now knowing that i never, ever have to go back to that shithole again.

4. independence is good.
home is great. everyone should have a home that they find great.
got a lot of work to do on my old house. i thought i would have it done a long time ago. somehow, time just flies.
it is mine, tho, and that makes it good. mostly.

6. I just spent last week with my boyfriend.
He lives in Toronto and I live in Chicago. I was priviledged to spend 8 days with this wonderful, loving, kind, beautiful man.

We have a long distance relationship...for now. But we love each other and his love makes the bad times more bearable.

7. After a few months with a very insightful intern at the walk-in counseling center...
I have gotten a handle on the extreme emotions and resulting behavior that nearly smothered my first boyfriend. It's over and I miss him, but we are taking tentative steps towards friendship. My new boyfriend helps me work out my feelings and keeps me steady.

8. I'm feeling sort of unloved and unwanted right now.
I feel as those around me have turned their backs on me. Given up on me. And it's hard to deal with.

9. The good, the bad, and the ugly
(well, maybe just the good and bad). ;)

The Bad: As some of you may know, I broke my wrist and ankle pretty badly last month, and had to have two separate surgeries to fix everything. My wrist is in a splint and my leg has to be in a hard cast for at least two more weeks. I still can't walk/get around/do much of anything, and boredom is really starting to set in. Also, I seem to have caught a touch of whatever stomach bug my parents brought home from work last week. :(

The Good: My wrist splint is removable, so I can at least take it off to wash up a little, and I'm scheduled to start physical therapy this week. I've been off the really heavy painkillers for a week or so now, and am hardly even needing to take Tylenol anymore. I think I've lost some weight (although I'm sure most of that is probably muscle mass, since my arm has atrophied noticeably...but that's what PT is for, right?), and oddly enough, my depression doesn't seem to be quite as bad as it was before all of this happened. Hey, I'll take what I can get! :hi:
