I would highly recommend reading these two articles. They detail the changing nature of the news business and how the internet is forcing those changes. This pertains to politics as much as any other aspect of the news gathering and dissemination model.

There is a great deal to chew over here. There is a seismic shift in how information is being gathered and dispersed. We all wonder were it is going to shake out and these two articles raise some great questions.

I can only see positive aspects of development here. If all that will ever come of internet news is the breaking up and bankrupting of media monopolies, it will already have been worth it. Incidentally, Jay Rosen's suggestion to create an oppositional network is especially fascinating. Isn't this what the internet has been for the last 6 years?
