Where are Dem senators re Kerry getting out of Iraq????
Well where are they???
According to Thomas, Sen John Kerry put forth Sen Joint Resolution 36, May 8th, 2006, calling for Troop Withdrawal from Iraq at the end of this year!!!

Now where are the rest of the Democratic Senators calling for an end to this illegal unneccessary war of imperialism? Or are they all a bunch of lily-livered demagogues??? Somebody restore my faith in humanity!!  :hi:

1. First off
Welcome Aboard, Pierzin :patriot:

Did you get the Senator's e-mail (http://blog.thedemocraticdaily.com/?p=3170)? He was at a function yesterday and mentioned that not even the Dem caucus were all with him yet, they need a wake up call.

He needs our help, so get your phone dialing.

2. The last I heard only Feingold was publicly with him
Though others, like Kennedy may simply not have declared themselves to be when they possibly are.

3. I'm sure Kennedy will be with him on this too.

Hi Pierzin! :hi:

I think some Dems are being careful not to rock the boat for the elections in November. While I do agree that Dems have to take back Congress in order to have the power to accomplish anything, I'm still with Senator Kerry on his call to get us out of Iraq. He's right that we should demand that our Senators to let us know where they stand.

IMHO, I don't think that coming out against the war will hurt Democrats in November. My thoughts are that it will help them and that they should have the courage to put themselves out there for or against.

John Kerry is can't do this alone and he's asking us to pursuade our senators to get on board.

4. Getting Allen and J. Warner on board?
Arghh -- I don't call my senators or congressman much because they are less than useless!!!! I sure as heck hope one or both of them is sent home packing. How about anyone else with wingnut senators. Do you call their offices anyway?

5. I call my Congressman
He's good on the environment and bad on almost everything else. You mean Allen and Warner are not on board yet?

6. You mean 97% with Bush Allen?
There was just an article in the paper today; Allen went to Iraq and his big report was that "troop morale was high". So the new ethics training they're going to receive as a result of Haditha (and, now, the BBC is reporting about ANOTHER atrocity) or the fact that Haditha is ALL over the American news doesn't have them a little upset? Oh, and by the way, that was his WHOLE report from Iraq. What an idiot!!!!

In general, a Republican in a blue state is NOTHING compared to a Republican in a red state. You feel like there is just absolutely NO common ground. I'm even really mad at John Warner because of what he did to the Skipper of the USS Cole. Warner 100% blames him for the terrorist attack (the kind of attack, the Skipper has said that CANNOT be prevented on a daily basis in Iraq even when troops know they're coming), even though his actions caused him to save the ship and many lives. Warner said he'll have a hearing for this guy's promotion, but Karl Rove blocked it in '04 (wouldn't want all of THAT ugly info coming out again, especially since * blew off terrorism when he came into office even though that bombing was an ominous sign of things to come and actually never was responded to -- NO RETALIATION, no GWOT, nothing. It was on to the Chinese embarassment). And, now, Warner still says he'll only consider a promotion for the Skipper if there are hearings on the Cole again, for which Rumsfeld and the WH will continue to stonewall. So this guy just has to sit around in pergatory.

I did call Warner which led him to joining the Gang of 14, which apparently is a big loser for our side, so I'm not sure how good that was.

9. I never saw what we gained from that
It simply let a bunch of judges in presumably to preserve the fillibuster till needed for the SC. Alito was atrocious, not because of being po-life, any replacement would be too, but because of all the checks and balance stuff.

7. I've got Sununu and Gregg so I'm used to getting nowhere, BUT
I call them and e-mail them on a regular basis anyhow. They need to know that people are going to hold them accountable for their actions and their inactions.

Having lousy senators is no fun so I feel your pain. We seriously need to oust these bums.

13. Yeah I know what you mean
Maybe if you disguised your letter as a football Allen would write back. Warner's the lesser evil of the two but that's really not saying much. I don't have your and fedup's experience though as far as congresspeople go. My congressman, Frank Wolf is a partisan Republican yes but he also focuses on human rights around the world and I admire that to no end and that his staff gave me something when I had a journalism report on the possiblity of the draft coming back. I still feel like a dick for asking him a politically loaded question when I could have asked him about Sudan and Darfur but I didn't care about it then at least not nearly as much as I do now.

10. I guess I didn't tell you guys that a couple months back Warner
dropped off my Plan B list. Here is my list now:

1. John Kerry
2. Al Gore (if he runs)
3. Hillary Clinton

I would consider Warner for VP. He's fantastic on domestic issues and was the best governor in the union possibly, but he shows his lack of foreign policy credentials like in this answer. He also knows very little about the Environment, which he was good enough to admit on Road to the White House.

Now before you barf a lung that I put Hillary on the list, I realize she's not that great, but I am looking for candidates who have an impeccable amount of experience in all facets of government and world affairs, as well as political skills -- John, Al, and Hillary are the ones who possess these qualities. Hillary is wrong on many issues but she does have what it takes to fight in an election; Al is better on the issues than Hillary, but he still can bore me sometimes (can't wait to see the movie though). John is the cream of the crop -- right on the issues, charismatic, highly intelligent, political chops, and I could go on. The 3 above have those skills MUCH more than any other candidate I've heard mentioned. ALL the others are 2nd or 3rd tier, and will be slaughtered in the General.

11. They're hiding out somewhere
Because they sure as hell aren't standing with Kerry yet.

As FedUp mentioned he stated yesterday (I was there at the event) they haven't gotten behind this. Time to push them and every one else.
