1. NECN has some video:
http://www.boston.com/news/politics/necn/

Kerry appeals to patriotism in opposing Bush's Iraq policies

(4/22/06 6:23 p.m.) Senator John Kerry is accusing the Bush Administration of stifling dissent about its Iraq policies by branding critics as unpatriotic. NECN's John Moroney has more.

13. He was at his absolute best.
Did people already post about who was there? I'm having a hard time catching up. Present were:

Cam
Vanessa
Alexandra
Diana
Marvin

We had a chance to talk with Will Pitt for a bit before the speech started, and he had a phone interview scheduled with JK later in the afternoon. Partial report here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x998054

11. Thanks for posting Whome!
Now I really can't wait for tomorrow! And is it just me, or does Jim Rappaport seem like a dickhead to anyone else? Right dude, it's all about Kerry.

14. Anyone who was there,
and anyone who sees the speech tomorrow will know how utterly devoid of comeback the repukes are. Kerry covered ALL the bases and left them nowhere to go.

They can whine and call him whatever they want to call him, but this was a truly stellar patriotic call. The hall was ROCKING, and there's not going to be any way to disguise the love in that room for the man and for his message. Of course, they'll probably :eyes: say, well that's Massachusetts for you...

6. Speech posted
at Raw Story

Excellent comment:

STOP Bitching and criticizing!! Take the time to read all of this speech. This is a freaking work of art. This absolutely nails down how wrong this administration is and how wrong it is for our troops to be in harms way for BushCo. Never mind the past, Sen. Kerry is standing tall right now!! My favorite part of this speech is when he talks about the retired Generals who are now being slamed by BushCo.: “How dare those who never wore the uniform in battle attack those who wore it all their lives—and who, retired or not, did not resign their citizenship in order to serve their country.” Beautiful!!

9. Did you post that? : )
That post nails it on the head.

I get so sick of these people that cannot open their ears to
hear what he is saying. They are no better than republicans when they refuse to listen.

It was a 5-10 second clip of Kerry (not speaking :-( ) and his call for withdrawal. No snark or spin at all. :bounce:

With video!
A bit on Tobe Berkovitz:
http://www.solomonmccown.com/news_pr_war.html

SOLOMON MCCOWN HOSTS PANEL OF EXPERTS ON WHO WON THE PR WAR.
PANEL FINDS INDUSTRY COMMENTARY IN WAR IN IRAQ

On Wednesday, May 21, the Publicity Club of New England and Solomon McCown & Company co-sponsored what for Solomon McCown will be the first in a series of industry-related discussions. This inaugural panel, entitled "Who Won the PR War?" examined the war in Iraq and the way its truths were conveyed and received...

...Tobe Berkovitz agreed that in many ways the War in Iraq was a victory for President Bush. He cited the democratic candidates currently "wandering dazed and confused" in Iowa and New Hampshire. But he also pointed out that Bush set out to only win over voters who were on the fence and therefore win(n)able. As in the Vietnam war, he noted, a large group of oppositionists arose, which one could cite as a PR victory for Europe, the Middle East, and Muslim fundamentalists. Thus, according to Berkovitz, who won the PR War "depends on which continent you're on."
