Strength and Wisdom
Democrats stronger, wiser on security

Strength and Wisdom.

It's the campaign slogan that Democrats should adopt for the forthcoming midterm elections and the 2008 presidential campaign.

In a 2004 speech, former President Clinton emphasized the theme: "Their opponents will tell you we should be afraid of John Kerry and John Edwards because they won't stand up to terrorists. Don't you believe it... . Strength and wisdom are not opposing values. They move hand in hand."

Republicans did a masterful job of convincing Americans that Kerry and Democrats didn't care about national security. Americans were dumb enough to believe yokel former Sen. Zell Miller when he blubbered that Kerry would defend America with spitballs.

1. Wonderful editorial
Clinton's quote is good, but I really like the December Kerry quote on port security. Yokel is a good word for Senator Miller.

9. Did you post this?
If so, sorry for the dup. I got this as a google alert, posted it and ran out the door for work this morning.
Does anyone know if it was posted in GD/P? I think it's excellent.

10. No, I didn't. This is excellent and you should. My comment
was a bad attempt at humor. When I entered the thread there were no comments and when I finished, my post was third, a minute behind the first two with the same exact title: looked like a hiccup! Not funny, when it has to be explained.

2. Wonderful Editorial
I love this. It's so very true. The Repubs are all scary, all the time. The Democrats actually know what they are doing and can implement both a better security policy and show respect for the rule of law the rights of individual citizens.

Thanks for posting this GV!

5. Great editorial. Is it posted in GD-P?
For all the threads asking what the Dems slogan should be, this seems like a good response.

6. Excellent slogan, but only if you have the right leaders.
Pelosi and Reid do not project either strength or wisdom.

8. Thank you for this editorial. It is good to know that people
recognize what a great man Kerry is and are giving him the recognition and credit he deserves. My Mom will probably read this because of my interest in Senator Kerry and will realize that I am not alone in admiring the wonderful senator-even if he doesn't represent our state.
This is similar to an I told you so moment.
