1. Hey Mass, we're getting a blizzard tomorrow
Forecast says 12-15 inches for my area. Sounds like fun!

I hope JK stays in DC. It's a real problem to try to get in and out of Logan Airport when there is a storm. (As some in this group well know.)

2. I dont even want to think about the blizzard. The idea is too frightening
Where I grew up, we had snow three times a year, and when we had 3 inches, it was a lot of snow. I am still learning what it means to be snowed in and to have snow on the ground for weeks at a time.

3. Really? Where did you grow up?

I love a nice big snowstorm. (As long as I don't have to drive in it.) There is something absolutely peaceful and beautiful about it. I always thought of it as God's way of telling me to take it easy that day and read a book.

It's only a foot or so. Last year we had a 3 footer. This should be bad on the coast though. Full moon and all. There might be some significant flooding if the tides come in just as the nor'easter hits. Lord help those on the Islands and the Cape. I bet Nantucket and the coastal regions lose a lot of beach if it hits as they are now predicting. (Non Mass people: Nantucket is losing beach front at an alarming rate. Within a couple of hundred years, that island will be reclaimed by the sea. It may happen sooner if the global warming worst case scenarios come true.)

5. We're just getting the wind/beach erosion part of the Nor'easter.
No snow. Bummer. I want it to snow enough to shut everything down. (That doesn't take much by the way.) Hunker down and stay safe and warm everyone who got the blizzard last night!

7. Already 6 "inches of snow and still falling.
They said they were expecting at least a foot.

Well, ABC cancelled their Sunday programs to show us the snow. I can see as much by looking thru the window.

8. I love it when they do that
7:00 am. It's snowing. Wow! The state has a lot of pieces of equipment ready to go to deal with the snow.
8:00 am. See 7:00 am
9:00 am. Let's go to Worcester. Yup, it's snowing and they have a lot of equipment ready to go.
10:00 am. Wow, high tide soon. Maybe something will flood.
11:00 am. High Tide. Let's show the idiots along the Shore Road who came down to watch the waves crash and pray that someone else's beach front home gets hit. Still snowing.
12:00 pm. Still snowing.

same until 6:00 tonight when we hear: It's only snowing lightly, the equipment is out clearing the roads and the world, apparently, did not end today. Pity that.

13. Both his campaign e-mail and his state office.
Wanted to make sure he gets it.

Jerk. Check these quotes:

In some ways, he says, Kerry ''was a terrific campaigner, but he followed the consultants' advice, and that's dangerous." I saw the consultants take Al Gore from the best debater, who destroyed Ross Perot, and turn him into somebody that George Bush stomped on."

http://www.grassrootspa.com/2005/04/president-rendell-governor-critiques.html

Gov. Ed Rendell says the outcome of the 2004 presidential election is a lot simpler to interpret than many analysts have made it.

It wasn't Evangelicals alone who turned the tide, or that the country has shifted far to the political right.

"I think George Bush was reelected for two reasons," Rendell told an audience of Arcadia University students and faculty Monday afternoon. "One, because he was a wartime president. And he was the first president post-9/11."

The governor said "people are reluctant to change in the middle of a war." And, he added, "don't underestimate the power of being a wartime president in the incipient stages of that war."

http://www.phillyburbs.com/pb-dyn/news/113-11232004-405422.html

So, either the Senator is a 'teriffic campaigner', or he didn't discuss democratic ideals enough. And either the war was the primary issue of the campaign or the Senator should have focused on it less.

Which is it, you freaking flip flopper? (I have avoided that term, but it fits)

Good thing he wasn't at the Casey meetup, wisteria would have had trouble holding me back.

On the bright side, I feel a little better about Casey than I did. For the most part, he seems like a good guy.

I am through ranting about Rendell. It's against my 'no Dem bashing' policy, and I really don't think right now that he's worth my effort.
I'm still not voting for him unless he retracts.

15. seems like he just wanted to attack Kerry for his own reasons
he is one of those considering a run for President himself. and especially in a primary the way to win voters would be to try to claim he talks about Democratic issues and Kerry doesn't.

what a prick though. you are right , he makes no fucking sense. his whole point in bashing Kerry was for talking about national security issues and then the jackass says we lost because Bush has positives in that area. why didn't people like him and other Dems go talk up Kerry's position rather than complaining and whining about strategy.

i do think you should speak to him personally about this if you get the chance. you don't have to go out of your way to do it. but if you happen to attend an event where he will be and get a chance to talk to him.
