Last 15 minutes of Morning Sedition -
Edited on Thu Dec-08-05 09:42 AM by whometense
Check out the podcast. They didn't mention Kerry by name, but Marc did a great rant about lefty freepers. "Nothing's ever good enough for some people." Yes, he actually said that! Did anyone else hear it?

The context was that they had spoken with Russ Feingold on the show, and then got a lefty freeper email equating Feingold with "his pal Joe Lieberman." It was wonderful to hear. And funny thing, when you take these people out of their native habitat (GD, Kos, etc.) they sound even loonier than they do online.

Marc's whole schtick is based on his neuroses; when an emailer sounds crazier than Marc, that's pretty nuts.

1. Awwww!
I missed the second two hours this morning, had an appointment, but will definitely dl from archive next week -- I loved the whole Lennon tribute today, too.

It struck me this morning during Marc's monologic musings in the first half hour of the show that I don't know to whom I can compare him in radio -- he's got this quality of direct deep, very personal emotion and neurotic self-obsession, combined with a compulsion to speak the truth no matter what the consequences, that actually reminds me of John Lennon! And, like some child on a TV show, I think we've actually "watched him grow up" on this show over the last almost two years. It's been a privilege and I will miss him so much!

2. I loved the Lennon stuff too.
It's one of "those memories" for me as well. My oldest was 1 1/2, and I remember him banging on pans in the kitchen in his Oshkosh overalls, listening to Beatles songs on the radio. A few years later he became an obsessive Beatles fan.

I feel the same way as you about Maron - he went from zero to 75 practically overnight, from knowing nothing at all about radio to a pro. My mornings will not be the same without his wit. Here's one woman who loves the morning boys' club. I really like Rachel Maddow and don't want to take my bad temper out on her, but I am not sure whether I will listen or not after MS goes off the air.

Did you get the email a few days ago asking us to "give the new lineup a chance"? Feh.
