OK so let me get this straight...
Lots of Republicans in Congress have a problem with hurricane relief bills because of their cost.

Yet they had no problem funding a pointless death trap in the Arabian desert, a death trap that hasn't even given this country a temporary reprieve on our coming oil crisis.

They had, and continue to have, no problem giving away billions in unnecessary tax cuts for the top 1 percent and to their favorite corporations.

They fund stupid and wasteful projects like building a missile defense system to patrol the skies of Alaska. They throw away tons of money on things like this.

But they don't want to help Americans who have to rebuild from scratch after a natural disaster, because it costs too much.

Nobody should let them get away with this. They shouldn't be given ANY ground whatsoever, not even an acknowledgement of the cost. Every time one of them mentions it, they should have to answer for the cost of Bush's war and Bush's tax cuts. All they want to do is cover up their utter callousness and selfishness with concern for fiscal responsibility, and they can't be allowed to get by with that.

2. Their tax cuts absolutely piss me off! A very sore subject with me!

That's me and one of my daughters the nite of the rally.
She has special needs, and they are cutting her benefits to keep their freakin' tax cuts.

:grr: :grr:

I loved pushing that sign in their faces as they were driving by, flipping us off in their fancy cars.

4. I am so sorry to hear this, P.
It breaks my heart to see this weasel Congress arrogantly cut and cut from the programs that genuinely help people in need. My son was ADHD and diagnosed when he was 3. He had the help of a brilliant and wonderful teacher in pre-school and through the first few years of school who 'got him' and helped him integrate into school. These programs were started with grant and seed money from the local, state and federal government. This made such a difference in my son's life that I just weep inside to think of them being cut and not available to others.

Here's to re-doubling the fight. These programs aren't 'waste and abuse'; they are lifelines to getting kids positive help so that they can achieve and NOT become problems. (Indeed, they can thrive and become great citizens!)

6. My daughter is great! She is the sunshine in my life.
Alot of what this administration is cutting will effect her - like Medicaid. It just really pisses me off that they think they should have their tax cuts more than people in need should have their benefits. And it did feel great to have her holding her sign for all those rw to see.
The Phx rally was held in an affluent area, outside of a mall. Most of the people that drove by gave us honks and thumbs up. But there were those others!

If they do go after Medicaid, they will be seeing alot more of her; or even worse, if Roberts does roll-back some of the laws of the ADA. He represented a case against a deaf girl, with normal intellegence, saying she didn't need to have an interpreter with her in class. The man scares me.

Now Kerry on the other hand, has a young man with special needs working in his office. When I heard that, I was in complete awe. It melted my heart:) He also does alot to raise money for these kids.

I'm glad that your son is doing so well.

5. They are NOT the party of fiscal responsibility
They are the party of giving corporations tax breaks. They are the party of greed. Recovering from natural disasters helps the country but they don't believe in helping people. They believe in building up ridiculous deficits and not even having the brains to realize that when you're spending massive amounts of money, you have to fucking get it from somewhere. They're leaving us a nasty debt. Fuck their tax cuts. These tax cuts don't benefit the majority of Americans.
