Bad, sad, drepsseing week. I know, let's have a joke thread!
Hmm, now I have to think of a joke. (or mildly amusing story. It's been a bad week, I'm not being picky here.)

Ahm, I was reading a new Red Sox book that talked about Kerry. The book is 'Blood Feud' and it's a story about how the Boston Red Sox are good and the Yankees are evil. (Red Sox fans don't mince words over this vital issue.) And the story recounted how Kerry accused Dean of being (dun-dun-dun) a closet Yankees fan back in late 2003. Dean was forced to reply that he might have, at one time, had Yankee leanings, back when he lived on Park Ave in NYC. But the clean and fresh air of Vermont had knocked the infidel out of him and he was now a Red Sox fan. It was actually an issue in NH. LOL!

Oh, and I am getting a Wally and an Adirondack chair any day now. It's my early B-day present. That makes me happy.

1. Bad TayTay
I can't help thinking that if it was Larry Flynt on life-support, all the folks currently agitating for the feeding tube would be lining up to pull the plug.

Sorry, but the thought had crossed my mind. (And I am, occasionally, evil.)

2. Good idea - here's one of my fav's
The hotel Astor had hired a new bus driver and instructed him to meet all incoming trains and announce at the depot in a very loud voice, "Free bus to the hotel Astor!" On the way to the station on his first trip her kept repeating to himself, "Free bus to the hotel Astor, Free bus to the hotel Astor," until he memorized it letter perfect.

Upon his arrival at the station, however, he became confused at all the noise and hub bub and started shouting as follows. "Free hotel at the bust your Astor, I mean Freeze your ass at the Hotel Buster, I mean Squeeze your bust at the Hotel Faster, I mean Free ass at the Hotel Bastard, I mean Bust your ass at the Hotel Freezer, Oh shit...take a cab."

Not uplifting but it's made me laugh since the first time I heard it over 20 years ago.

3. I'm so glad you're getting a Wally!
Every Sox fan should have one. For non-Sox people, here's our Wally (pre-chair), circa summer of 2003.

5. And Tomorrow, I will see The Trophy
And there will be pictures that can be downloaded. This is a great and momentous occasion. I hope i don't trip and knock The Trophy over and break it. Sigh!

Poor non-Red Sox fans. Have I told you guys lately that you tolerate us Sox-obsessed folks well. I thank you for that.

And Whome? Love, love, love the pic. I have a shrine like that at my house as well. Can't wait for Sunday night, April 3rd for the season to open and then for the Rings Day at Fenway on the 11th. Heaven!

8. Wally ALWAYS makes me smile.
Ours sits on top of the TV except for Sox games, when we move him so he can see. Ridiculous, isn't it? My daughter put him on his back with his legs up against the back of the chair the day they started winning against the Yankees in the playoffs, and he had to stay that way till the World Series was over.

4. Here's something sort of funny Jesse Jackson said
Ok well it is mildly amusing, but it is true... Walmart boasts that it is a "leading employer" of Hispanics and African Americans. Jesse replied that the slave plantation was once a "leading employer" of African Americans as well.

Here's the Morning Sedition Easter Weekend Liberal Agenda.

Liberal Agenda 3-24

1. Urge members of Congress to intervene and prevent the death of Federalism.

2. At the office, give a detailed analysis of the revolution in Kyrgyzstan. Then sit back and enjoy the blank stares of your co-workers.

3. Picket outside the new Sandra Bullock film. Shouldn't it be "Ms. Congeniality 2?"

4. Fight high gasoline costs by bicycling to Schiavo counter-protest.

5. Today's phrase, just drop it into conversation: "You wanna know the real date Social Security goes broke? November 2, 2004, man. Wake up, sheeple. The rats are in charge of the cheese, man."

11. I loved last nights as well
As if the present state of the media can even be parodied. Not when you have Fox News bringing in 'I talk to dead people' John Edward to speak for Teri Schiavo. That is both funny and really depressing.

(Not that John Edwards, the other one that used to have a syndicated show wherein he talked to people's dead relatives and loved ones. Again, there is no place in hell hot enough to put these carrion vultures.)

was hilarious. In that oh-my-god-is-there-no-sewer-too-low kind of way.

My favorite thing all week, though, was Jon Stewart's scream. That was just exactly how I felt at the time. I couldn't stop laughing.

14. I'm with you on that one
I felt the same way. It's just so sad that the alleged media has sunk to this level. If I were Michael Schiavo I would sue the whole lot of them for slander and libel. That poor grieving man has really been taking a beaten over this.

on Friday. He posted a humor thread as well, here: http://forum.truthout.org/blog/story/2005/3/25/115034/121

Some of this stuff is truly great. But be sure to check out the seasonally appropriate 30-Second Bunnies Theatre.

17. Thanks!
This mood too shall pass, especially with video links as funny as these. My son is a huge Star Wars geek and a Conan fan, so I will make sure he see the Triumph video. That was hilarious.

At least this case should conclude soon. I hope the family finds peace.

18. Glad you liked it.
We were all sitting around last night laughing at those Bunny Movies. If you watch "Jaws" be sure to click on the bunny that shows up after the movie.

Did you ever see "Poop Valhalla" - Triumph in Spin Alley after one of the debates? Funniest thing I've ever seen!

19. stolen from "Brown Bag Blog"
I can't think up my own jokes, but I can steal them:

Q: How many Bush Administration officials does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A: None. There is nothing wrong with the light bulb; its conditions are improving every day. Any reports of its lack of incandescence are a delusional spin from the liberal media. That light bulb has served honorably, and anything you say undermines the lighting effect. Why do you hate freedom?
