Stand up to the Kerry bashers!
I've never started a post in this group and I wanted to do that and say hi to everyone in here. Hi fellow kerry supporters.

About the Kerry bashing which seems to be a hot topic around here, and bashin in general on du, we all know it's the loudest people that get heard. it's up to us to stick up for kerry around here, and to stand up to the baseless kerry bashers. most of them crumble if you confront them. More and more people around here are realizing the agendas of those bashing fellow democrats. More and more people are stickin up for Kerry and others, we've got to keep it up.

1. Amen! The Smear Vets taught us what happens when you wait
However, don't get into the tit for tat routine. Make the case, support it, defend, but don't let folks suck you into pointless back and forthing. All that does is keep the nasty threads kicked and feed what amounts to a troll.

2. in the end it's more annoying than being a real problem anyways
as they don't have much power or influence as most don't agree with them.

that's why i tell others on here to try not to let it get to them too much.

3. Yep, like me and Saracat on the Dan Rather thread
Edited on Thu Mar-10-05 06:30 AM by LittleClarkie
Gotta stop now, before I go snappin'.

I hear what you're saying j17. But I do think it's good to get a post with the truth on the thread somewhere, then get the hell out of there before you get sucked into a flamewar.

Oddly enough, I'm finding the Dan Rather smear thread to be somewhat exhillarating. Have at you!!! But I should be in bed. So should Saracat.

4. i wish i had paid it less attention during the Primary campaigns
all through 2003 and after. i use to get worried and angry about it and try to respond to everything. i could have spent the time doing much more useful things.

it's a balance i guess as you say. respond at times if you want but don't get sucked into it, especially with the same people who obviously are just looking to bash.

10. It is important to have some positive voices out there
I appreciate the work you Kerrycrats do out in the freaky forums. I don't have much time to mix it up, but I have to say it is so insipiring to read your well thought out posts.

Thanks :yourock:

5. welcome, Cali!
The more the merrier around here. I agree with you, most of them are just hot air. If I ask them how they know something is true, or what would they say was the answer to the problem, I usually get no answers. The just love the sound of their own keystrokes and seeing their words pop up on screen. I go and do battle for JK whenever I can, and try not to get emotionally involved, which gets hard at times. But we do need to be out there sometimes.

9. you're right
I never reply to these dumbasses because I don't want to give the thread a free kick, but we do need to defend Kerry as much as we can.
Ever notice how a pro-Kerry thread sinks like a rock, and an anti-Kerry thread gets a million posts?
Maybe we should try a different line of defense; kick and post pro-Kerry threads :-)

11. Sounds like good strategy
Except for the obvious troll threads most end up in between because of our defense on the anti-Kerry ones and their nonsense (I'm not biased, I say) on the pro-Kerry ones. Probably the ones we need to ignore after a few good counter arguments are those with an original message that distorts Kerry's position in a way that both makes him look bad and has at least a small amount of believability. The counter arguments near the top of the thread will be seen be people who are genuinely open to rejecting the post.

16. Every pro-Kerry thread I've seen turns into a bash Kerry thread
matter of fact, a lot of threads that have absolutely nothing to do with Kerry turn into bash Kerry threads. And it's always the same old "He let us down", "he's a loser" bullshit. I can't count the times I've posted a response that asks what they would have had Kerry do instead of what he did. Or, what could Kerry reasonably have done differently, since it's usually about election fraud. I have yet to get a response. Or one that makes any sense, anyway.

I just can't help but wonder what their agenda is. If anything, I'm a Kerrycrat, but I would NEVER bash any democrat who is fighting on the right side, for the right things. I don't understand why people do it. And why they get so hateful about it. I always defend Kerry when I see it, but I just don't get it.

15. They keep going
Even when these Kerry bashers are proven wrong, they still keep going with the same argument, like they have nothing else to say, because really, they don't. No one is going to agree with the actions of another person 100% of the time, if they have a problem with something Kerry did that they thought was wrong, they need to look at all the things he did that were right. They just don't get it.

17. One big problem is that the anti-Kerry message gets reinforced daily from
the right AND the left, largely from paid partisans like KOS (and plenty of others I suspect) but also from annoying "leftist" windbags like Noam Chomsky, who's been rolling out the same stale menudo about identical "republocrats" for the last four elections.

Don't get me wrong, Chomsky's a whiz at foreign policy and lots of other issues, but his dumbass Nader lines just give ammunition to anti-Kerry D---iacs and "why vote at all" types.

I wish to heck he'd pay attention to candidates before bashing them!

19. Mike Malloy can be annoying sometimes
even though he can be a great liberal talker.
I'm tired of Nader. Is he going to run again?
I HATE the why vote at all crowd. If you refuse to voice your opinion through the vote, than shut up on politicians.
