New JK E-mail?
Edited on Mon Mar-01-10 05:25 PM by ObamaKerryDem
Hey everyone :),

So I was at a Young Democrats Convention here in Tucson on Saturday and one of the speakers was demonstrating a new voter registration tool the state party was using. While doing this, he went in on his e-mail (as part of the demonstration). Along with the e-mail he wanted to show us for the talk, there was also one from Senator Kerry, with the subject line "Disgusted". I looked for it in my own inbox afterwards since I am on his mailing list, but could not find it. I haven't seen any mention of it on DU or anywhere else I looked online, either. Does anyone know where this came from and if so, what it is about? It happened so quickly that it's also possible I misheard, but I do believe I remember seeing the Senator's name, lol.

2. Sure sounds like a JK email header though!
LOL! I can see that one applied to the case of the Heinous Bunning...

3. from DSCC -- I got it on Saturday (Feb 27)
Dear MBS
It disgusts me every time I see it. As Democrats work with President Obama to dig us out of a deep hole and build our country up, right-wing Republicans have an entirely different goal: Force his failure. Then retake political power.

Even if they've supported it in the past, now if it's part of our president's agenda, Republicans are dead-set against it. They figure if they kill a few more bills, it's smooth sailing in November. Democrats will fall, and President Obama will fail. That, in a nutshell, is the Republican plan. We've seen it before - remember how they tried to break President Bill Clinton?

Now, it's our turn to say "no."

Republicans are counting on big, big corporate money thanks to the conservative Supreme Court's decision. Democrats are depending on you. The DSCC needs your help to raise $71,074 by tomorrow's FEC deadline. Every dollar you give will help even out the playing field for our candidates. Their success helps ensure President Obama's - and America's - success.

Click here to donate $5 or more to the DSCC. It must raise $71,074 by midnight tomorrow. Every dollar will help fight Republican lies.

I know very well what happens when Republicans get their shadowy outside assistance to spread their smears. And they'll have plenty of help this time. With the right-wing fringe screaming about "death panels" and "socialism," and corporate cronies allowed to spend an unlimited amount of money in support of candidates thanks to the Citizens United ruling, Democrats must be ready to fight. When they attack, we must immediately punch back.

That takes resources. We have great candidates, superb grassroots supporters and loads of experience in getting Democrats elected. But if the DSCC doesn't meet each and every fundraising goal, none of that will matter. Our message will be lost in their blizzard of falsehoods, and President Obama will pay the price.

Click here to donate $5 or more to the DSCC. It must raise $71,074 by midnight tomorrow. Every dollar will help fight Republican lies.

The Republicans have a plan. But the Republicans didn't plan on this: We worked too hard to let them destroy President Obama. He's our president. His goals are our goals. And we couldn't be more proud of the job he's doing.

They're coming after him. But they have to get through us first.

Sincerely,

Sen. John Kerry

Keep up the good work in AZ. Speaking from personal experience, I know it's usually an uphill fight there, especially in certain districts. (And that moron JD Hayworth back again, this time as a senatorial candidate?! )

4. Oh, thanks so much for posting that! :)
JK hit the proverbial nail right on the head in that e-mail (as usual). Very motivating. I find the RW's actions disgusting too!

And thanks---it was a great convention. :) I'm lucky to live in what is probably the bluest (or one of the bluest) spots on the AZ map, lol, but it is still an uphill battle in the state overall, indeed. We have some great representation in the Congress (like Grijalva and Giffords), but not so much in the Senate and most DEFINITELY not in the State Leglislator, where it's been said that 40 out of 90 Representatives are out-and-out Birthers. :x And don't even get me started on our new Governor...lol But AZ, overall, does show at least some promise. The last two Presidential races were very close (I think JK was within something like 2-3 pts of Bush in '04 and Obama came within single digits, which is impressive if you consider that the guy he was running against has been the Senator here for over two decades!) and even some of the redder regions have been trending a bit closer in recent years. So I stubbornly hold out hope for more Progressive gains, though as much as I am not a McCain supporter, I'd take him staying on in the Senate over that wingnut Hayworth, any day! *shudders*

I was JK was my Senator..:)

5. I had Shadegg as my representative
:scared:
One year it was so bad on the state level that the Phoenix Dems couldn't even mount a single candidate to run against our state senator!
In another election, the Dems were so asleep in our district that a LaRouche guy won the Dem nomination for our state rep! :scared:

Getting better, I know, but still. .

6. my favorite legislator
was Karen Johnson (?), from Mesa, birther-evolution-denier-homophobe-racist-and-general nutcase extraordinaire. I almost kind of miss her, actually. :)

When we first moved there (before Giffords and Grijalva), the Sierra Club gave black roses (NOT a compliment LOL!) to the entire congressional delegation except Ed Pastor.

Yes, it HAS gotten better. .

Thank God for Giffords, Grijalva and Pastor (wish our State Leglislator was even half as good as our Congressional Representation! Though our Senate representation leaves a lot to be desired, too...especially Kyl..:puke:) But I still sometimes see races were there is literally no Democratic nominee, sometimes just a Republican and a Libertarian (I find myself having to go with the Libertarian :)).

But it is getting better thankfully..hope 2010 continues on that positive trend! *crosses fingers*
