FYI - Kerry email for the DSCC
entitled "Sarah Palin" just popped in my inbox. Not exactly in love with the DSCC right now, but yes in love with JK and despising the Palin character, so I will chip in a bit.

Think GOP obstruction is bad now? Just imagine what Washington would look like if a bunch of new senators - inspired by Sarah Palin and the tea party crowd - took over.

If you think this movement is more circus sideshow than actual threat, you'd be mistaken. Republican candidates are falling all over each other to get Palin's endorsement, and the tea party movement is responding. Money is pouring in.

Either we match the passion and activism of these new forces in the Republican Party, or they'll be choosing who's sitting in the Senate, steering our country's course. If we don't match them dollar-for-dollar, we will lose Senate seats in 2010. And the loss of even one or two would flip crucial votes in their favor and doom President Obama's agenda.

Click here to make a donation of $5 or more to the DSCC and receive a coupon code worth 20% off items in the DSCC Store. The DSCC must raise $500,000 by Dec. 31 to defend our Democratic majority in 2010. Every dollar you give will be matched, doubling its impact. Progress depends on your donation.

In case you doubt the seriousness of this situation, here are a couple of examples:

Republican Senate candidates, including Mark Kirk of Illinois, are actively seeking Sarah Palin's endorsement and they are disavowing their own past positions, contorting themselves to appeal to the new Sarah Palin Republicans. They know that if they receive her blessing, the money will follow.
The leading GOP Senate candidate in Connecticut, Rob Simmons, has been running around the state with a tea bag hanging from his rearview mirror, and he carries a copy of the United States Constitution with a tea bag attached. Such tactics might seem silly. But they're working.
These are not fringe candidates - but they are increasingly pandering to the fringe to curry support. If they win, they will be doing the bidding of Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and their legions of fans. The best chance we've had in generations to make positive change will have ended.

Donate to the DSCC. Every dollar you give will help build the grassroots organizations we need to support our incumbents, challenge ridiculous attacks and get each and every Democrat to the polls. It's the kind of effort we need to keep America moving in the right direction.

I know better than most what these Republicans are capable of - and the high cost of not taking immediate action. It's not too late to stop them from derailing the President's agenda. But we need your help - and today is not a moment too soon.

2. Getting some attention already
From the Christian Science Monitor:

Kerry fundraising letter: Defeat Sarah Palin and Tea Parties

Sen. John Kerry's new fundraising letter seeks to make a bogeyman of Sarah Palin and the Tea Party movement and rally liberals for the 2010 midterm elections.

By Patrik Jonsson Staff writer / December 15, 2009

A new fundraising letter from Sen. John Kerry (D) of Massachusetts gives a strong hint about how Democrats may try to stir their base to action during the 2010 election season: scare them with the prospect of a Sarah Palin nation.

Breaking the midterm trend

Traditionally, the party of a new president tends to lose seats in midterm elections. Recent GOP victories in New Jersey and Virginia governor's races raise that specter for 2010. In large part, Kerry appears to be trying to offset the historic trend by creating a conservative bogeyman (bogeywoman?) against which Democrats can fundraise and campaign.

Perhaps more relevant to Democrats like Kerry is some Republican candidates' apparent desire to court Palin and Tea Partiers as a way to vicariously claim their energy. Republicans such as Mark Kirk, who is running for Mr. Obama's former Senate seat in Illinois, are “contorting themselves to appeal to the new Sarah Palin Republicans,” Kerry writes.

He also mentions GOP Senate candidate Rob Simmons in Connecticut, who “has been running around the state with a tea bag hanging from his rearview mirror.”

Such tactics, Kerry warns, “might seem silly. But they’re working.”

Now, Kerry's apparent hope is that an anti-Tea Party strategy will work, too.

3. And FDL goes negative on him and the e-mail- go figure.
The immaturity is astounding there. They are so angry at Democrats for changing the bill that they are attacking just about everyone. But, Kerry get special treatment because he defeated Dean. I swear Dean is just doing this for the attention. And, his goof ball followers just go right along. They are as bad as the teabaggers in trying to insert themselves into everything and demanding that their way is the only way. Well, they got know where with Dean and they won't get anywhere with this nonsense about trying to replace current Dem's with Dem's that are more to their liking.

I did not post the link here because I didn't want to draw anymore attention to their nonsense.
