1. I think so too
I have to agree with the GDP response. I am starting like this Kerry better than the Kerry of 04 :hide: (not that it wasn't there, but he definitely sounds more liberated as Obama's surrogate :)).

Hope he does more this summer/fall. I think doing Mike Baisden was a good start.

4. Same JK
as for the couple of people on GDP one admits that she is a Deanocrat, just goes to show that many could not get over their disappointment of their candidate not winning, therefore they may have worked for the campaign but their minds ad hearts were not fully invested. If they were they would have known the real John Kerry. JMO. I didn't need people telling me what they thought about JK, I knew in my heart and my gut because I made sure I knew everything I could so I could respond to those sitting on the fence or those spewing falsehoods.

As you said you were not into JK in '04 you just voted for him, therefore you really don't know any difference because at the time you were not paying attention. Trying not to criticize you sista, but you really can't compare.

8. No, you're right, but

I was referring to the first comment in that thread that said that had the Kerry of 08 ran in 2004, he might have won (never mind the media or fear mongering).

The other OP was one of the few Deanocrat or Deaniacs that admit she missed that in 04. Some (not all) of Obama's supporters still buy into the GOP media spin about Kerry, never mind that Kerry is one of Obama's top surrogates (if not the best) (They buy into it about Obama too). Guess that people will never be over 04, nevertheless the 08 primaries.

I never said I didn't pay attention to Kerry. I just didn't follow closely until the DNC Convention and think he sounds more liberated now. I wasn't talking down about him (sorry if it came out that way).

That's why I asked about the primaries and like reading feedback of what the political environment was like. I watched all three debates. (Kerry was very impressive) and the rallies on C-SPAN (also cool). I don't think people are getting that the media and the GOP are the real enemies, not the candidates.

6. a wonderful voice, no doubt. The only robocall I ever loved was JK's,
with his taped voice asking for funds in 2004. Only time I ever smiled when a disembodied voice asked me to "push 1".How could I not push 1 with that voice asking me to do so? :)

But also (to be serious) the radio milieu suits him so well, as it allows him to have a serious discussion, and to give extended, substantive answers, instead of sound bites only.

3. JK is wonderful here
But I would really like to strangle Arianna Huffington. It's interesting that she and Katrina van den Heuvel seem to be having the exact same conversation that Glenn Greenwald and van den Heuvel were having on NPR's On Point last week, with Greenwald and Huffington saying exactly the same things. They both drive me nuts!

7. I just got it opened and listened. (I had to use a different browser.)
It was a great interview. However, I noticed after JK's interview they went back to more critism (in general) than I prefer.
