Tangentially topical: Teddy to appear on Fox News Sunday
Edited on Fri Dec-15-06 02:18 PM by whometense
Think JK might come up as part of the discussion?
    Dear whometense,

I'll be appearing on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace this Sunday, December 17. It's sure to be an interesting discussion, and I hope you'll tune in and watch.

As part of our online community, you understand the importance of reaching out to new audiences with our Democratic ideals. Issues like the minimum wage, the war in Iraq, jobs, education, health care, equal opportunity for all, and the environment matter to every American.

With the new Democratic majorities in the House and Senate, our goal is to implement an agenda for all Americans, not just the far right and the privileged few.

I hope you'll tune in for the program this Sunday. Check your local listings for the exact time.

    Sincerely,

    Ted Kennedy

P.S. If you haven't had a chance yet to visit our new minimum wage action site, take a moment to get up to speed and leave your own comment:

1. Did you hear anything about he and his wife,
dressiing up as penguins for some Christmas Party, and doing a skit taken from "Happy Feet"???? I'd pay anything to see a clip or pics of that!! Maybe it will be talked about , or even shown on Sunday??? I heard it on one of the news shows while I was in the office on line yesterday. Anyone else hear anything about it???

4. Kennedy clarifies his statement about support of Kerry in 2008
You can read the whole transcript of the interview at the link. But I thought the part about whether he would support JK in 2008 would be of particular interest to this group. It sounds to me like Uncle Teddy is just pushing JK into making a decision sooner for his own good, rather than a real threat of supporting someone who was running against JK in the primary.

http://www.foxnews.com:80/story/0,2933,237021,00.html

WALLACE: ... I also wanted to talk about some presidential politics, and we're beginning to run out of time.

You caused quite a stir this week when you said that you won't wait indefinitely to see whether your Massachusetts colleague, John Kerry, decides to run for president, that you may decide to support someone else.

Is it just a matter of timing, or might you endorse someone else like Senator Hillary Clinton, Senator Barack Obama?

KENNEDY: Well, I've talked with John. John is going to make his mind up in these very next few weeks, and I have every intention of supporting him.

This process is moving very, very rapidly, as we've seen in the last, really, 48 hours or so, where Evan Bayh has gotten out. Looks like John Edwards is getting in. Barack Obama looks more like he's going to be a candidate. Hillary Clinton has accelerated her, sort of, timeframe.

So it is moving much more rapidly than it ever has before. And I think a candidate, if they're going to be able to stay the course on this, has to get in much more quickly. I think if they're not going to get in quickly, then it's going to be a difficult situation.

But John Kerry I think of what a difference John Kerry would be if he were president of the United States of America. We'd be a vastly different country. And I think John Kerry people underestimate him. They underestimated the last time. I think he's a strong candidate. And if...

WALLACE: Let me ask...

KENNEDY: ... if he makes a judgment and decision to get in, I intend to support him.

8. When will Deval Patrick be inaugurated?
I wonder if JK is waiting until after that date to announce (assuming he will announce). I'm sure he wouldn't want to do anything to overshadow that event.

9. Patrick will be inaugurated just after the New Year
And I think you may be right about JK not wanting to steal Deval's thunder.

10. They actually showed this clip
on our local Faux news channel. They were talking about the '08 buzz and lead off with the Kennedy clip, and there was no snark input, which made it even better.

11. If you don't mind, I would like to post this in DU-P.
I think this is a good way to refute the post last week from Will Pitt.
