Well, woop-de-doo, I'm a Kerry Apologist
I go away for a few days and come back to the same old stink:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=103x102606

(How does this qualify as an Editorial? Or is it that they post links to editorials there? I haven't seen this forum before.)

I really wish I could ignore the smell. If I weren't so tired, I might be able to go over there and muster a "pfffffbbbbbbbttttt!"

Meh. I'm going to bed.

2. the article is from a socialist site which takes things out of context
and what Kerry actually said is the same thing Carl Levin and Sheila Jackson Lee said on the same day.

4. Matthews said he was FOR withdrawal
and supported Kennedy and the timeline. Isn't that just typical? They just can't get it's the HOW of it all. I really don't think either side is that stupid, but we all pay for their political antics because Kerry's plan is consistently the one that's right and never gets told accurately.

5. I know I'm sick of these lefty lunatics
Seriously, someone in that thread said he was glad Bush won because it would mean the destruction of American power.

Okay, assholes like this keyboard warrior are the reason Rush and Hannity can paint liberals as "anti-American." One stupidass Che-idolizing unemployed hipster living in his mom's basement opens his Marxist mouth, and BAM, Rush goes into action - "all liberals hate America, see, here's the proof, here's a quote!"

Fuck these lefty "revolutionaries" and their fucking high and mighty "pure ideals." The closest they'll ever get to fighting in a revolution is playing Halo with their 25 year old jobless, leeching friends.

10. your post in that thread was the best one -
"Why actually quote the interview in context when it's so much easier to screech about corporate fascist American imperialist pigs and how pervasive they are in the Democratic party?"

I can't even conduct any kind of discussion with those idiots anymore - their view of the world is... so plain fucking stupid that's it's a waste of time engaging them. There as ignorant as any freeper.

11. I was ready to strangle a guy who said "What's wrong with the draft?"
The more things get worse, the better for us, right?

Great, Rush was right, though it isn't as widespread as Rush would like. Do you realize how much I hate saying that! But there are those on our side who WANT things to go badly.

Knowing things WILL go badly and cheering THAT they go badly to prove a point are two very different things. I wish for the Iraqi people's sake that their election would go well, but I don't have alot of hope. I'd love to be wrong.

12. They need to grow the hell UP
That's such an immature attitude. Sounds like a spoiled child who doesn't get everything that he wants, so he decides to be destructive and throw his toys around the room.

I don't want any particular ideology to take over the DP and "purge" the rest, be it centrism or liberalism. That's what happened to the GOP. We need to have lots of different ideas discussed and debated... so long as they're constructive and reasonable.

But people like that are marginalized for a very good reason.

:nopity:

13. LOL, I am a proud Kerry and Dean apologist
who is jobless at 23 living with my parents, so not all people living in their mom's basement are luny leftists so I resent this!
(Heehee, just kidding, but that was fun...wheee!)
I love to point out how closely Dean and Kerry are alike and actually like each other. The fact that Dean campaigned for Kerry and Kerry's MTP rebuttal to the "Dean is too liberal..." are classic proof.

7. better not to answer, and kick their thread for them
It's clear that they are determined to resent Kerry and misunderstand everything he says. Sad. I had to laugh at WildEyedLiberal's retort, however!

I know that if JK were in the WH right now, he'd be implementing his plans for Iraq, and he would be getting us out of there asap, but his answer on MTP is predicated on * being president, and the incompetent way things are being mishandled. Gotta admire the way he is always careful to speak the truth. It's one of his core values, and one that gets him in trouble sometimes. But it makes for a great leader.

9. No one likes a prophet who tells the truth
not even his own people.

They call it mealy mouthed. But then when Kerry tries to simplify the message, he doesn't sound sincere, because you can tell there's more he want to tell you so you have the whole picture.

He has that professorial thing going on sometimes. He wants you to know why he's going where he's going, mentally. But no, we want grandstanding and attitude and shouted answers that show passion. Great, but what if that never, ever produces results, or very rarely anyway. Sometimes I think some people would rather the passion than the results.

I stopped myself last night. I started to reply all over a thread, then stopped myself. I thought about not kicking the thread.

I did dearly want to tell someone "wake me up in three years" that if it was a better day, and he didn't help us get there, that I'd just let him sleep. Why should he reap the benefits of something he didn't help to get. "Wake me up in three years," indeed. What a lousy attitude.
