After having analyzed the validity of the claim, the writer says:

...
Which leads me to a final point. Putting up a web site these days and making stupid, uninformed, childish, gutless, whining, petulant and taunting claims is easier than writing a grocery list on a post-it note. Web sites, and particularly blogs, are treated like toilet paper: used for one purpose, then flushed. And that clearly seems to be the intent with heyjohn.org. But the mainstream press still treats the appearance of a web site — including even the most bare-bones implementation — as somehow more legitimate than a similarly-reasoned, one-sided, deceitful, angry letter to the editor.

And I think that’s a problem. Although in this particular case, it turns out heyjohn.org has unintentionally helped prove that John Kerry has done far more – by orders of magnitude — than any other politician in helping candidates across this country.

So thanks.

1. That's what
pissed me off more than anything! This was the media promoting swiftboating based on a bogus claim, even though the facts were out there.

2. Hey Hey
This quote is the best thing. I hope this effect holds.

4. Does somebody have a login at TPM to answer to this bull

I have to leave now and do not have the time.

http://www.tpmcafe.com/blog/electioncentral/2006/oct/22/midterm_roundup

In the same post Hotline notes, “Arguably unfair to Sen. John Kerry, but the share the wealth story is now in the Globe.” They fail to actually make the argument though of why this might be unfair to Kerry. The Roundup acknowledges, as Josh has multiple times (and as TPM readers have discussed), that Kerry has been an absolute animal on the campaign trail, but it still can’t see any good excuse for not giving your absolute maximum – campaign-wise and financially – considering the circumstances/stakes/etc.

Who has given their absolute maximum? Hillary? Bayh? Schumer? Please... This is bull.
