Do we have a list of who is going and where and when we are meeting?

1. The doors open at 6:00
I will try and be there at 5:30. We will go in, find a table, eat. listen to some good speeches. I still don't know everyone who is going, I haven't had time to make up a real list.

This thread can do for that. Post here if you are going and what time you think you will arrive.

12. Meeting at the hotel before the dinner?
Which time should we be at the hotel? And how do we get our room? We are leaving Cape Cod around 11am.

BTW we had a great time yesterday on Nantucket and today on Martha's Vineyard. How beautiful these islands are! The weather is changing now and we will stay home and relax tomorrow before coming over to NH.

20. GV and I are scheduled to arrive at Logan close to 10:00 AM.
We will be renting a car and heading to NH sometime after that.I believe it takes about an hour to drive from Logan into NH. I would say, 1 1/2 hours to be safe. I am thinking we should be at the hotel around 12:30 to 1:00. You are welcome to contact me on my cell. PM me and I will give it to you. I am looking forward to meeting you.

22. We will arrive in the early afternoon
I have GV's cell phone number and will call when we arrive at the hotel. We have a 2 1/2 hour drive from Cape Cod, I think. And we will stop for a short visit of Plymouth on our way up north. Can't wait to meet you guys!

2. I wish I could make it
But alas, I have other plans on Friday. But I do plan to make it to the next JK speech at Faneuil Hall, as well as to this year's birthday bash. So I will get plenty of Kerry over the next couple of months. :)

4. I live on the outskirts of Manchester so if anyone is planning on staying
in Manchester and has time either before or after the dinner and wants to have a mini get-together, count me in. There are many great restaurants in Manchester and some nice parks for walking and hiking (if the weather holds up).

5. I am going along with GV.
I can be at the dinner around 5:30 or so also. I also have no plans for after the dinner. We are staying at a nice inn, perhaps we can even meet there afterwards.

9. NH vs. Mass joke
My neice just sent me. Just a prelude to the weekend and how the two states see each other. (Ahm, it's a joke.)

Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Heaven, God was missing for six days. Eventually, Michael, the archangel, found him resting on the seventh day. He inquires of God, "Where have you been?"

God sighed a deep sigh of satisfaction and proudly pointed downward through the clouds. "Look, Michael, look what I've made."

Archangel Michael looked puzzled and said, "What is it?"

"It's a planet," replied God, "and I've put life on it". I'm going to call it earth and it's going to be a great place of balance.

"Balance?" inquired Michael, still confused.

God explained, pointing to different parts of the earth, for example, northern Europe will be a place of great opportunity and wealth, while southern Europe is going to be poor.

The Middle East over there will be a hot spot, God continued, pointing to different countries. "This one will be extremely hot and while this one will be very cold and covered with ice."

The Archangel, impressed by God's work, then pointed to a small land mass with a short, beautiful coast and mountains and said, "What's that one?"

"Ah," said God, "that's New Hampshire, the most glorious place on earth. There are beautiful beaches, rivers, lakes, and climate. The people from New Hampshire are going to be modest, intelligent, and humorous, and they are going to be found traveling the world. They will be extremely sociable, hardworking, and high achieving people, and they will be known throughout the world as diplomats and carriers of peace."

Michael gasped in wonder and admiration, but then exclaimed, "What about balance, God? You said there would be balance! Everyone and everything seems so totally perfect in this place you call New Hampshire!"

God replied wisely, "Wait until you see the people I'm sending up there from Massachusetts every weekend!"

10. Does anyone need tickets?
I had a voice mail today offering me 2 free tickets, but I already have mine. I've sent an e-mail to someone I know who is starting that Kerry 2008 volunteer group because I think he'd like to meet Kerry supporters from other areas of the country. If he can't go, is there anyone who would like to bring an extra guest? The voice mail said I have to let them know ASAP, but I don't want to take tickets if I can't use them. Everybody I know who is a Dem has plans for this weekend. There is a high school reunion, a birthday, an anniversary party and my health care friends are working.

Let me know if interested.

Can you accept those and we can work out the details on Friday.

Why the free tickets? Is the event undersold?

15. Okay, I will call tomorrow and reserve the admissions.
Edited on Wed Oct-11-06 09:03 PM by _dynamicdems
Unless I hear back from that guy I e-mailed by early tomorrow, the tickets are yours. I told him in the e-mail that a reply was needed ASAP. Who knows, maybe he's on vacation. I did want him to meet you folks as he's starting up a 50 state support organization for Kerry for President, should the senator decide to run and he'd like to get some volunteers from states around the country. I'll tell you more about this Friday.

I'm not sure why I was offered free admission. I'll be able to go and bring a guest. Then I can give away the ticket I purchased. It amounts to two free admissions in either case.

18. Heh... that may have been me you heard
I don't remember who all I called today. There were four other people manning the phones, so it could have been one of them.

The reason for the free tickets is that the campaign office bought a certain number of tickets to give away to NH Kerry supporters.

You can draw your own conclusions as to what that means. ;)

19. Cool!
That's a good idea. I'd hoped it might be something like that instead of the event being undersold. That didn't seem possible with the crowds he's been drawing lately.

And the only conclusion that comes to mind...

;)
