Star Trek stars.
It seems like they are all Democrats. At least most of them. Check out www.newsmeat.com

1. Do you mean the original series or the newer ones?
Edited on Sat Nov-27-04 07:25 AM by ikojo
I suspected that most of the original series folks were Dems considering their ethnic makeup and histories...

Nimoy: grew up orthodox Jewish in a very working class environment. I recall reading that he was active in the peace movement in the 60s..this is a fuzzy memory though.

Takei...while a young child was interred in a concentration camp in Arkansas just because he was of Japanese ancestry. He is still active politically.

Koenig...grew up Jewish...I am not sure whether his parents were immigrants or not but he is of Russian Jewish ancestry.

Nichols...African American and I think she was active in the Civil Rights movements in the 60s

Shatner...he's an iffy one. I always suspected he was a pug because of his love for horses and such. He comes off as a pug. I guess it's the arrogance thing.

D. Kelley...wasn't sure about him either. Brought up in the south but I heard he was a real mensch.

2. THe original and the newer ones.
I know Nimoy made a lot of donations to Dems, including Kerry's campaign. From TNG, LeVar Burton donated money to Barack Obama.

3. Shatner always seems to come off as apolitical.
I know he has a love for the environment, but who really knows where he stands politically....?
