Just heard part of an interview of President Gore on NPR; apparently he's making the rounds to promote the paperback release of "The Assault on Reason". I missed a good part of it and will be looking it up on the NPR website to listen to the whole thing.

Every time I hear the man it reminds me why I have such a great respect for him. One thing, though - although many of his positions and a good part of his expressed philosophy will be very familiar to those in the Obama camp, the lengths he went to so as not to directly answer a question about the gas tax holiday leads me to believe that he will not be endorsing anyone until the end. Let me find and listen to the interview again and I will update, along with a link.

Update Haven't had time to listen yet, but here's the link.

Update from the Boston Globe:

" Al Gore did not rule out an endorsement in the Democratic presidential race, but all but ruled out a speculative scenario some have spun out as the battle between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama goes on and on -- namely, that he would emerge as a compromise nominee with either Clinton or Obama as his running mate.

In an interview today on National Public Radio, Gore at first laughed and was somewhat at a loss for words when he was asked about the scenario.

'In a year of remote contingencies, that's about as remote as you could possibly imagine,' he replied."
