1. I think there would be added effort to make this one
legal. I think there would be plenty of people who'd want a squeaky clean election given what happened in 2000. We want that now - but I think the awareness would be hypersensitive to that issue.

3. Well, that would be a nice change. I will never, ever

forgive SCOTUS for 12/12/2000.

They are to blame for 9/11/2001, 3/20/2003, and 8/29/2005.

If Al Gore had been in the Oval Office, as he was elected to be, I doubt that the first two events would have occurred and response to the third would have been better. I would bet there would have been more action in advance of Katrina making landfall. That whole fiasco looked suspiciously like ethnic cleansing, sending the black survivors far away from New Orleans, refusing to allow them to return to their homes. New Orleans will never be the same if it's gentrified and that seems to be the plan.

4. the usual- why is the left always right?
they keep bashing us for our anger and outrage, and yet the feed us new outrages every day.
i agree 100% about nola. even as a private citizen, al gore did more than george bush on the day the levees broke.

5. Just in case any have forgotten what he did

How many other private citizens chartered their own planes and airlifted New Orleans citizens to hospitals out of state? And Gore did it without sending out press releases or talking about it publically. As far as I know it, he's never mentioned it himself - maybe has been asked about it but he has not brought it up himself.

He did what he did to help those he could because he saw that he personally had the capability of making a difference, and saved what lives he could.

Al Gore, model citizen activist: selfless, courageous, innovative.

8. I'm not sure if I never knew that or have forgotten, but it was

a very classy thing to do.

7. I'd like to believe that all our
diligence in the matter of watching more closely over the election procedure helped us to win in 2006. I think all the grassroots election theft detection groups have helped tremendously in this fight. With so many folks watching all the time, badgering for honesty, it seems to work, or work better. Still- there's Rove and his pesky trigger- happy finger on the big red shiney, candy-like button!

9. everyone should have to be a judge at least once.
being an election judge is an amazing experience. it should be like jury duty. everyone should have to give it a try.
and i do agree with you. not just watchers, but i think that many citizens did step up to be judges. i would love to see a stat on that.

10. More importantly, he would have Dean's DNC behind him this time
I didn't like McAuliffe once I figured out he seemed to be wanting to help the Clintons more than Gore. It is not surprising that the guy who didn't fight for Gore is now running HRC's campaign.
