CAMDEN, N.J. — Defense lawyers on Thursday will question the credibility of an FBI informant who delivered some damning testimony a day earlier in the trial of five men accused of planning an attack on Fort Dix.
On cross-examination, one defense lawyer has already asked informant Besnik Bakalli about the time he shot a man in Albania.
Bakalli has told jurors that some of the suspects talked about killing U.S. soldiers and at one point said they wanted to do so in the United States.
The suspects in the case — all foreign-born Muslims who spent years in Cherry Hill — are charged with conspiring to kill military personnel, attempted murder and weapons offenses.
They face life in prison if they’re convicted.
