HONOLULU — New detailed allegations filed in federal court say the wife of Hawaii-based soldier Naeem Williams cruelly abused her 5-year-old stepdaughter.

Both Williams and his wife, Delilah, are being tried in connection with the little girl’s death.

Williams allegedly beat 5-year-old Talia to death in July 2005. He has pleaded not guilty to murder. The federal government plans to seek the death penalty if he is convicted.

Williams’ wife reached a deal with prosecutors in 2006.

Delilah Williams agreed to plead guilty to murder and testify against her spouse in return for a sentence of 20 years rather than life in prison.
