A1C wanted on kidnapping charge nabbed in Ga.

Airman 1st Class Darryl Green, wanted for being absent without leave and allegedly holding his wife and son hostage, has been arrested, an Air Force spokesman confirmed.

Green has been AWOL from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C., where he served with the 335th Aircraft Maintenance Unit since about Jan. 8, said base spokesman Staff Sgt. Lesley Waters. He was arrested Wednesday evening by U.S. Marshals and the DeKalb County, Ga., Police Department, according to a report in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

A 21-year-old woman identifying herself as Green’s wife told police in Glynn County, Ga., that on Monday, Green trapped her and their 5-month-old son in her apartment for 12 hours. During that time, Green allegedly tied the woman up, assaulted her, shot at her while she held their son, tried to make her drink a cleaning solution and attempted to rape her, according to the Glynn County Police Department.

Authorities tracked Green in his silver Chevy Impala to DeKalb County, where they arrested him Wednesday evening in an apartment, the Journal-Constitution reported.

Officers also arrested Cedric Meredith, an alleged accomplice charged with being party to kidnapping, kidnapping of a minor, false imprisonment of a minor and false imprisonment of an adult, the report said.
