"The Smart Way to Beat Tyrants Like Chávez," by Donald Rumsfeld, 12/1/07
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/11/30/AR2007113001800.htmlAnd we thought he was "retired"!
My prognosis: Oil War II: South America. This year. First target: Bolivia. (Rumsfeldian destabilization is working better there than in Venezuela or Ecuador. Bolivia, Venezuela, Ecuador--all with leftist governments--are allies; I think the plan is to draw Venezuela and Ecuador into a bloody conflict over the fascist plan to split off Bolivia's resource-rich rural provinces from the central government of Bolivia's first indigenous president, Evo Morales. In the above article, Rumsfeld says we need to get rid of the obstructionism ("checks and balances") in our own government--i.e., Congress--so the U.S. can "act swiftly" in support of "friends and allies" in South America. He's talking about U.S. military intervention. Bolivia is the most likely place - where Rumsfeld "friends and allies" will declare "independence," use fascist militias to start the conflict, and request U.S. support for their "independence." As to the urgency Rumsfeld seems to feel, Ecuador's president has promised to kick the U.S. military out of Ecuador this year, and Rumsfeld and Cartel are hugely losing the psyops/dirty tricks war on democracy in South America. They need something big to create chaos with--and get billions more U.S. military dollars into South America, for the larger goal of restoring corporate/fascist control of Venezuela's and Ecuador's big oil reserves--and stopping the highly successful movement against U.S. domination/"war on drugs"/"free trade"/World Bank-IMF loan sharks.)
Who does Rumsfeld hate the most--Islamic "terrorists" or elected leaders in democratic countries who think oil profits should be used to bootstrap the poor?
I think it's a toss-up, and he possibly hates democrats more than he hates "terrorists." In any case, whoever he hates, you know they have...
...LOTS OF OIL!

Here's one of the web sites that Rumsfeld's proposed "internet psyops" agency is meant to counter. I recommend it for an alternative view of Hugo Chavez and Venezuela (alternative to our war profiteering corporate news monopolies/Bush State Dept.): www.venezuelanalysis.com.
