Great piece I found recently, wanted to relate it here.

Many political pundits view this presidential contest in Iowa is not the usual, in that majority numbers, more than 50% of caucus voters are still uncommitted at less than a month away to the caucus day in Jan. 3. Thus, uncertainty grips the main contenders of both parties.

In the Democratic ticket, Clinton and Obama play a see saw game, Clinton, at first, showing strong support, only to chip away toward the finish line. She is reportedly outpaced by Obama in the latest poll at 29% vs. Clinton’s 25%.

However, someone is steady, though sort of stagnating at the third slot at 23%, which is the case of candidate John Edwards. His support in Iowa once was strongest; he was the leader of the pack. He is no more. It is bothersome to me, but hoping on some statistical gurus’ analysis that he is still in dead heat with the much publicized campaigns of Clinton and Obama.

I do believe the rest of the world is starting to catch on, and with more pieces like this, they can not help but take notice.

2. Edwards I believe is our best chance
I agree they avoid mentioning him. These are the same people who helped put bush in office.

Are they that scared of him and what can be done?

3. My suspicion is that Obama and Hillary will eventually
cancel each other out. As long as John maintains his base (as has been the case quite consistently) he will catch on again with other voters. I also wonder about who some of the voters are that are latching on to Obama? As was pointed out in this article and elsewhere, it is questionable to what degree they will show up at the caucus, unlike JE's base.

4. Call me silly -

- alot of people do! But I'm sensing an undercurrent of strength for Edwards that the media's trying it's best to ignore. And why should such a manuver surprize us???
With all the union support, the recent endorsement by the Iowa congresman and other such backing - you have to conclude that you're either SMARTER than the idiots producing the "news" or they're deliberately denying Edwards (as well as the rest of the pack) notice because they fear what their being elected would mean for the industry itself. EDIT: I want to add this that Hillary's THEIR GAL - she's taken moola from them. Obama's spotlight is due to the fact that he was "tapped" by Oprah WELL before Obama threw his hat in the ring. Oprah's influence has afforded Obama a boost because she's a media power herself! End of EDIT

Heh - easy enough for someone to dismiss such thinking as hogwash or "wishful", but this is the SAME media that's fed us CRAP since Bush took office. They've gotten plenty of on-the-job training as to how to spin things once their darlings aren't annointed next year. Just watch 'n see. They'll all be babbling about how they knew it would turn out like this all along. RIGHT!

Have you even TRIED watching network news of late??? Goes something like this: "Good evening - Brian Williams here. Today in Russia, Putin was re-elected. An we'll be right back ofter these messages!......."

5. I'm with you.
I can not watch network news at all. Hell, I have enough of a problem not throwing a brick at the TV when MSNBC, or CNN is on.
Take a look at how much individuals who work for the networks have given to the candidates.

I'll save you some time. Lot's to the pugs. Lot's to Clinton and obama...next to nothing for John. This guy really bothers the status quo.

7. Our hope is to hit the ground ourselves, and talk to people about the REAL issues.
Quit trying to convert the Hillbots, and reach out for those who really don't understand the issue of corporatism, etc.

If we truly want someone who will CHANGE the system, WE will have to put that someone in office ourselves, because the corporations aren't going to do it and the media certainly won't!
