Any Champman Stick players on DU?
Just wondering--I saw one in a magazine back in about 1988 or so and have been intrigued by the possibilities ever since. I play guitar (kinda) already, but have gotten away from it in recent years. If I had it to do over again I would've gotten a Stick instead, but at the time I just didn't have the money.

Here's a pic, just in case anyone is wondering what the hell I'm talking about. (The one on the right is an Alto Stick.)

2. Tony Levin Is The Master Of "The Stick"
I just got a DVD of King Crimson for my b-day. (My wife found it.) Watching him makes me want one of those, too!

Nah! Listen To. . .
. . .Elephant Talk or Three of A Perfect Pair. He plays it more like a clavinet player. The right hand is doing counterpoint and counter-rhythm to what the left hand is doing. The bass line might be the dominant figure, but that's true of a lot of clavinet players too! (Listen to NRBQ! Or Stevie Wonder!)

On the Gabriel side of things: Listen to his fretless work on "I Don't Remember". Incredible!

6. Funny you should mention "Elephant Talk"
That's the first time I ever heard a Stick. There are a few solo players out there, too, like Greg Howard and Bob Culbertson (who's excellent, imo).

7. I've seen the Warr Guitar online, but
I don't know that I'd be prepared to spend an extra $1000 for one versus a Stick. What makes me even more unsure about it is that I can't seem to find any sound clips online where the Warr hasn't been used with distortion or heavily processed, so it's hard to get an idea of exactly how it sounds.
