Dickey's playing was turning to crap. They had personality conflicts with him too.
If you haven't heard them lately get the CD "Hittin' The Note". It will floor you. Best album since "Eat a Peach".

It is really quite incredible how this band has risen from the ashes to evolve into such a vibrant group that is still writing great new songs. Butch Truck's nephew Derek joined a few years ago to replace Dickey Betts. What a good move that turned out to be. At 24 years old, he is an incredible slide guitar player.

but i like warren haynes much better. derek needs to smile or do something while he plays since he looks like he's being forced to do it.
