ars technica reviews Duke Nukem Forever - It's not pretty

Wow... I don't think I was expecting this to be a great game, the super extended development time and fond memories people have for DN3D prevent that I think. It seems that this has turned out to be major shit going even beyond Daikatana levels though. A shame.

1. It was impossible to live up to the hype
but really. I knew it was going to be.... uhm..... questionable from the prerelease footage.

I never imagined that it would be this bad. No, I haven't played it, but 90% of all reviewers can't be wrong....

Diablo 3, on the other hand, looks like it's going to live up to most of the hype, and it's one of the most hotly anticipated games ever. Bioshock: Infinite is set in a familiar universe, is radically altering the look and feel of the mechanics and the game world, and is generating almost as much buzz.

Duke is just, by all accounts, a bad game. Not quite E.T. bad (nobody can live down to that), but still just.... bad.
