Halo 2 Coming to PC, but there's a catch...
a BIG catch.

Halo 2 Coming to PC

"Halo 2," the game that redefined first-person combat and multiplayer action for millions of gamers worldwide, is set to explode onto PCs exclusively for Windows Vista. "Halo 2" for Windows Vista will be developed by a dedicated Microsoft Game Studios team in partnership with Bungie Studios.

Windows Vista????? Cripes.

1. When it comes to the PC after months later
They can go f*** themselves. I don't like leftovers and getting the game 6 months or later after the platformers makes me irate.

Halo ain't all that and a bag of chips...Halo 2 ain't either.

2. Half-Life 2 is better than either one.
Seriously. People who have played Halo and Halo2 on their XBox see my machine playing Half-Life 2 and their eyes pop.

3. I Actually Liked Halo Better Than Halo2.
Having said that, I'd put Halo and HL2 at about the same level. Some of the sequences in Halo were masterful. One that comes to mind is a drop-ship landing on one oh Halo's beaches. You started in the drop-ship as it was on final, took the beach, jumped in a warthog, drove to and cleared an installation of enemies then came topside and engaged in a mini-boss battle. it was brilliant. Sure there were some tedious moments but then again we had the "Canals" level in HL2. Arghhh.

4. And what's wrong with the Canals in Half-Life 2? HUH?

Just kidding.
I take it you didn't like Route Canal? (I personally loved it, especially the pacing...when you finally get that gun for the
airboat, it ratchets up the action just a tad.)

And the approach on the dropship in Halo was very impressive for that mission. Really demonstrated the massive size of the levels.

5. I Must Admit That It Didn't...
seem nearly as long when I played it the second time through, but MAN. One of the things that I did like about it though were the little stops along the the way. It would have been better if you weren't forced to make the stops to progress in the level though. Would have given the level a more exploratory feel.

6. I concur.
There were a few points where I actually said to myself..."I have to get OUT of the airboat? Aw, man!"

8. As for massive level size,
I give you FarCry. Holy God.... those maps were.... huuuuge....

And the detail level in FarCry, for it being a game with some age now, is still even higher than games that came out after it. I'm still shocked every time I play it that it plays as well as it does, even on lower end machines.

But then I got an AMD 64-bit CPU, and lo and behold, there's a FarCry X64 edition, and beyond that, it's optimized for 64-bit CPUs, contains an updated texture set for the whole game (!!), AND comes with a built-in CD crack. Ah, joy. :)

9. I'm only half way through HL2, but I agree on Far Cry. It has the hugest,
grandest levels I've seen yet. I love that game. My favorite shooter so far.
