Question about daylilies.
There is a bed of daylilies, about 20' x 4' in the front of my house that I would like to get rid of. I wouldn't mind just a few, but they multiply so fast and take over, then the bed gets filled with weeds and bedstraw and I can't mow around it, so I'm thinking I just need to get rid of the whole mess. I want to decrease the amount of time I spend weeding. Can I just mow them down for now and then dig them up in the fall? I don't want to use chemicals.

1. Offer them up for free on Craigslist
Ask people to come with shovels and containers or bags to put them in.

4. Got a Chinese restaurant close?
Daylily flower buds are an ingredient in hot and sour soup and some other asian dishes. Fresh is way better than dried.

5. Depends on the kind of daylily
We have the orange "ditch lilies" around here that are very plentiful. Those I would mow. Anything else I would keep.
