Has anyone planted a potato bush in a warmer climate? I'm thinking
Edited on Tue Feb-20-07 06:44 PM by babylonsister
about buying one or two and potting them for the summer, but it gets really hot here, so am wondering if they might wither and die by August. My alternative is hibiscus. Thanks!

2. If it's the plant I'm thinking of
My MIL had one at her old house in Fresno and it seemed to do fine. If you know Fresno, it's a lot like Hell in the summertime, only without the ambiance - weeks of 90's and triple digit temperatures. We had a couple of plants when we lived in the SF Bay Area, and I remember them being pretty easy-care. They got blasted a couple of times by cold and lost leaves, but came back.

11. Define "warmer"
Ours are happy here in 110+ degree weather, but we give them extra water.
