this past season. I tried squash 3 times. Twice from seed and once with 2 purchased plants. They'd flower and then die. I'm in Central Ohio and put in raised beds. Any ideas? The tomatoes and green beans went crazy producing, but the squash just died.

1. My butternut squash and spaghetti squash died this year

I planted seeds around Memorial Day. That cold, clammy June in Northern Ohio killed them. I bought an acorn squash plant that did succeed. The weather also harmed the tomatoes.

Next year I am only going to extend the season on the "late" end. I may plant onions and peas early, though.

2. Hopefully this year will be better
I'll start the squash seeds indoors because 6 hills of 4 seeds each did nothing.

I had terrific luck with tomatoes and green beans once the weather warmed up here.

Let me know how things go this year. :)
