FROST?? In SEPTEMBER???
Okay, technically I know it's barely still September. Still, the prediction for FROST tonight took me by surprise. I was practically in tears clipping down all my basil plants when I had expected they'd have two more weeks of growing. :(

The "perfect" ending to a "perfect" growing season.

1. We were supposed to have frost last night
It didn't even get close. I guess I'll have flowers for awhile longer.

2. And (Grrrrrrr!) we didn't get it either, but since I was going out of town for the night, I had to
'pull the trigger' as it were, on all my lovely basil. Tomorrow, the great pesto-making marathon begins! (Put all the basil cuttings in glasses, buckets, vases all over the house before leaving town. The house did smell wonderful when we got back this evening!)
