Crop circle that looks like a jelly fish

In the Science forum, someone posted a picture of a new crop circle in Britain. It looks like a jellyfish. Can anyone make sense of this?

1. Woah.

I have no freakin' idea. So I posted a giggle response in the science forum. I remember seeing at least one other crop circle with those circles of decreasing size (o where is that piccie now...?) but the jellyfish top has got me stumped. Anyone else? Bueller? Bueller?

On edit: The jellyfish one hasn't been posted on Crop Circle Connector yet, but I noticed that the series of circles also appears (less detailed) in a portion of a circle that appeared yesterday in Wiltshire:

On edit AGAIN: the larger picture on the BBC site shows that there are seven descending circles--chakras? That leads me to think that the jellyfish umbrella top is a symbol for the universe/spirit arcing over us, with the tentacles being streams of energy coming down, surrounding us and protecting us.

It also shows that the crop circle makers have a marvelous sense of humor. But we knew that.

commentors on that site think it's part of a series of circles whose message is to predict a massive solar flare during a prenumberal lunar eclipse in july.

or something like that.

In other places, in recent times, I've read reports of UFOs that looked like jellyfish.

upside down, it could be the seat of the chakras going up. Or, it could be our oversoul downloading info through the crown.

4. I saw a show where two guys created complex crop circles in a night

They took credit for having done a lot of them. Showed how they did it - 'weaving' the plants together and so forth. All in a few hours.

I thought that crop circles were pretty much debunked in terms of being 'non-terrestial'. Still, they're pretty and pretty cool even as guerrilla art.

. . . that at "authentic" crop circles, there is a lot going on that resists explanation. I read a book a few years ago called "Secrets in the Fields" that delineated the differences between human caused and unexplainable ones.

What I saw gave a pretty good demonstration of how those 'unexplained' attributes were created. And these guys claimed to have created many circles that people had called 'authentic'. They were happy pranksters. Again, I will look for a link. I saw it many years ago and what I remember is that it was two guys from England.

It is difficult to explain how they could have created the very complex ones. Of course the PTB are more than happy to have a couple of good old boys coming home from the pub take credit for as many as possible.

In 1991, two men from Southampton, England, announced that they had conceived the idea as a prank at a pub near Winchester, Hampshire, during an evening in 1976. Inspired by the 1966 Tully Saucer Nests,<20> Doug Bower and Dave Chorley made their crop circles using planks, rope, hats and wire as their only tools: using a four-foot-long plank attached to a rope, they easily created circles eight feet in diameter. A simple wire with a loop, hanging down from a cap—the loop positioned over one eye—could be used to focus on a landmark to aid in the creation of straight lines. Later designs of crop circles became increasingly complicated.

Circlemakers.org, a group of crop circle makers founded by John Lundberg, have demonstrated that making what self-appointed cereologist experts state are "unfakeable" crop circles is possible. On more than one occasion, such cereologists have claimed that a crop circle was genuine when the people making the circle had previously been filmed making the circle.[

13. So they're still doing it 18 years later?

That doesn't make sense, IMHO.
I thought one of the criteria of a real crop circle is that there's no entrance to the circle from outside, something needed if one created the circle from the ground.
Also, that is one heck of a design, very symmetrical. How could two guys do that in the middle of one night? Remember they'd have to do it all in one night to make sure they weren't seen.
FInally, they'd have to know some astrology. I remember one crop circle seemed to reference a solar eclipse last year.

I recall reading that anyway. If a dead guy is creating crop circles, now THAT'S some paranormal activity for sure!

Several pages of the differences here. What always strikes me about paranormal stuff is that if 99.9% are hoaxes, and .1% is "real", it still changes everything.

In looking for those links, it was interesting to read about crop circles. Clearly there's more going on in some of them then I had previously thought. What I found particularly interesting was the people trying to replicate the change to plants - 'elongated apical plant stem nodes' & 'expulsion cavities in the plant stems' by going out with a portable microwave emitter. The idea that hoaxers regularly carry around microwave emitters seems more far fetched than an extraterrestrial explanation

The debunkers were debunked in many instances, including some circles that appeared instantly, within seconds, while witnesses sat on a hill nearby. Not to mention elements they couldn't have created: unexplained magnetizing within the circles, circles with no entrances (no track of them slogging through the crops--did they parachute in?), the complex weaving of the crop stalks, and no harm done to the crops (people and their tools instead trample them).

I read a book that went into detail about the differences between D&D's circles and the real ones...gotta remember the title...

There are so many details, it's hard to focus. Overall, it looks like a dragonfly. However, the segmented body is kind of like a caterpillar.
Did you notice the two small circles underneath the wings?

If yesterday's and today's crop circles were done by people, they must be pretty tired by now.

28. The messages are far more complex than something a hoaxer

could dream up. I'm greatly intrigued by the knowledge of the eclipses and solar events portrayed in these circles. Surely no one can still believe these could be hoaxes or man made...we aren't that smart. The complexity of these designs and their significance are remarkable beyond man's capacity.

If it is a hoax, than they've got a Carl Sagan mentality, gotta love em for that alone. We are ants living by a race that is trying to tell us more than we can begin to comprehend.

My feeling is we are all connected by DNA, so complex but somehow similar...GOD is in the DNA...it connects us all. And may 2012 bring us closer to understanding all.
