Seriously! He got down on one knee after he asked, no less than 10 minutes earlier, "Honey, you seem cranky," to which I replied, "Well, OF COURSE, I'm cranky! Where the f*ck have YOU been?!"

So, I'm sitting there after giving up on trying to work, he comes out, gets on one knee, and I'm like, "Oh, NO YOU AREN'T!!! STAND UP!!!" lolololol

(I'm not the romantic type...it wigs me out....quite OBVIOUSLY, eh?)

I absolutely said YES!!!!

for around 25 years I have -- for some truly unknown reason -- felt 247 or any combination thereof to be my lucky number. It hasn't been in any way thus far, but I always look forward to April 27th and July 24th as being potentially miraculous.

15. Funny....

well, poignant is more the word.

My dad passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly two years ago. He was only 62 and never sick a day in his life.

The way Mark was by my side nonstop during that crisis is what made me KNOW he was the real deal. His dad died suddenly about six months later. It makes us both sad that we never got to know one another's fathers, but at least we met them.

He did indeed call my mom two weeks ago, however, to ask her (I found this out yesterday).

I'm sure both of our fathers were sharing a beer in another dimension yesterday, very pleased.

He said he'd been working up to it over the last two weeks. Even though we had discussed it hypothetically, he really was nervous about doing it. He said he wasn't sure what I'd say -- and no one else was sure either, so it seems! LOL. Everyone knows I love him, but this is a BIG deal...I've been on my own for a long, long time and I guess everyone realizes what a shift this is for me, not to mention my daughter.

He knew I was miserable but decided to just go for it anyway.

What I thought was extra sweet is that, later on, when we were talking about the "event," he said, "Even if you would have said no, I wouldn't have left you. It wouldn't change anything. I would have just waited until you were comfortable saying yes."
