New Job-- which one?
Hi! After looking for jobs, I interviewed last week to two different places. One has already given me a firm job offer, the other would like me to come and do a ride along to make sure I would like it (that I knew what I was getting into).

The firm offer is 30 hours a week, five days from 3-9:30 pm., alternate weekends and holidays
the other is three days a week, 8:30-4:30, one weekend a month and one winter and one summer holiday.

The former is in a nursing home, I have done this job pretty much before. The people are very nice, the facility is wonderful, the residents and the short term patients are all friendly and happy. The place has some very good vibes. The latter is home nursing, I have never done this and presents a new skill set and the opportunity to get into case management at a future date. It is also more challenging.

I am more disposed to the latter job even though, as yet they have not given me a firm offer but I think there is a good chance they will.

I've asked my guides and prayed on it but am not really picking anything up. If someone with more sensitive antenna here could help, I really would appreciate it. I have to give my decision to the first place on Monday.

(btw, I am really excited about returning to work but also somewhat nervous as I have been out of work for a while.).

1. good luck!
Is there any way you can call the second company and tell them you need to make a decision on the first one? And when can they let you know? Then call the first one and say you can let them know then?

It might not work but I think i might try that.

2. Wow, what great opportunities for you!
:hi: I know that you want someone with a more sensitive antenna to answer, but I've got to say that I choose jobs based on what I want to accomplish in my personal life because I really value time for myself and family. So I guess I'm saying that maybe you should mentally interview the jobs: which one is more conducive to Your lifestyle and fits in the flow of it, which one will cause you to get up in the morning (or afternoon) looking forward to being there and loving it.

I also wonder if there's time enough to go on the ride along before deciding about the other offer.

3. No sensitive antenna here, but what a blessing!
To have a choice....that is in and of itself a blessing, albeit not an easy one necessarily. ;)

Best wishes to you!

:hi:

4. I'm getting to
take the Monday offer, but to remain open to the other job.
