11. I hope you are correct.
He gave a superb acceptance speech. As usual.

Whether or not the world is "new" will depend on what he does, not what he says.

I'm willing to give him a chance to do something good for the nation and the world. When he talked about people not always agreeing with his policies? That's me. I have agreed with almost nothing that he has proposed, which is more significant to me than grand speeches.

Thinking positively, I sent him a book and a note yesterday morning, as the polls were opening. The note addressed him as "Mr. President," offered congratulations, and asked him to consider the content of the book and to use it to reach out to teachers, of which I am one.

One issue, to begin with.

I opened the door. We'll see if he accepts that invitation.

if you hadn't started this thread, I was going to!
So thanks MG. :)

lwolf, I do understand but AFAIC, if democracy just gets some relief from the brutal blows it has been dealt every single day of the last eight years, I will be a happy camper.

I feel like the whole world has taken a shower.

15. Today
I'm going to go out and enjoy the unseasonably warm 70-degree, sunny weather--plant the last of my bulbs, maybe rake a few leaves, and bask in the glow of the new energy. :)

21. Happy day!
Hi everyone...
i woke up and couldn't figure out what that feeling was in my chest... the lack of a rock on my heart...that open feeling and the ability to breathe easy that i have not had since I was a child.
it was hope
not just the metaphor...but the real thing embodied

:yay:

wow, totally wow

22. Can you believe it MG
Remember the last election, when you were at work, and I was home, and we were both depressed on Kerry not winning. I mean depressed didn't even cover it. I think we were both sick to our stomachs. BUT now, oh my gosh. Jubilation!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so over the moon it's not funny. I actually stayed up late last nite (can you belive it) (I didn't pass out before 8pm) I watched with every electoral vote that came in and each state reporting and glue and I mean glue to that TV set just waiting for that magic number of 270. Wouldn't you know it. I had to let my puppies out to pee pee, when the 270 came in and Charles Gibson announced our new President Elect Obama!!!!!! Damn I missed it. I was so damn excited I could barely go to sleep. FINALLY MG FINALLY we won. God Bless each and everyone of you who had faith in the democratic party to see this country NEEDED a change. We did it folks, we actually did it!!!!

I couldn't be any prouder right now of this great country of ours. Black, white, yellow, purple, all came together in support of a change. How amazing is that!!!!

24. I feel the same way, and I feel that a very important part...
of my dream (and Dr. King's) has come true. This is a truly watershed moment for the American people. I so hope that permanent healing occurs from this statement of faith that the American people have expressed in this capable, intelligent, inspiring man.

I feel as though we have been pulled back from the brink of permanent disaster. I strongly suspect that we were much closer to it than we knew.

Thank you, Universe for the grace that you have shown us by making this man available to lead us at this pivotal time in our country's existence.
