Have you done a liver flush?
I became quite ill this week with what my doctor (and I) believe was a gallbladder attack. He wants me to come in next week for additional testing, and over the phone mentioned surgery. Now, although I will see the doctor and have the testing done I am not going to give up my gallbladder. I am convinced that the attack was caused by stress, and I'm addressing that. I would like to do what I can to nurture my gallbladder into happy functioning again. The cleanses I've read about are all copious amounts of organic unfiltered apple juice over the course of a day, with an olive oil/lemon juice cocktail/s before bedtime. Have you tried this? Have you tried something else?

I know DU is not allowed to dispense with medical advice. PM me if this request is too close to the line.

Many thanks, and bless your body...

1. About 2 years ago, I got a machine called
Deltox - this is an positive/negative ion generated detox machine. It works by placing your feet in a tub of water with the ion generator placed in the water as well. An electrical connection is made by placing a wrist ring on the wrist. THis creates a circuit, with you being the conductor. The process takes 30 minutes. The blood travels through the body about every 20 minutes. Here is the web site that may be helpful. What I found was that my cholesetrol levels dropped, by liver function increased (almost doubled) and my eyesight improved. THse were the most dramatic of the changes, but I felt it was really worth my investment ($1800). I understand the machines are less now, I'll try to find my friend's info who is selling the machines and she might be able to tell who has one and is just giving out the foot baths. BUt this is about the machine
http://www.spearmanbetterhealth.com/Deltox.htm

One thing to remember, these machines DO NOT cure any disease, but I believe it is a true detoxifier. If you choose an different machine, make sure it is both positive and negative generator. The negative or positive only generators are rather harmful because of the way they work.

Good luck

3. i certainly can't comment on
this machine, or how well it works, but blood only takes about thirty seconds to complete a circuit of the body.

2. Yes. It worked like a charm!
The attacks stayed away for several years then came back. Did another flush, no attacks. Surgeion didn't believe me. Thre were hundresd of little soft stones which the surgeon said was just "soap" from the oil. Try it.

5. Any discomfort in the process?
I've seen reports of nausea. They give me pause....

4. Have you had mri or other tests?
I had a 'stone' problem, learned by yellow appearance noted by husband, and very dark urine. In deciding what to do I saw gall bladder with a bunch of marbles hanging around; I said, lets get rid of it all, and no problems since.

7. I've had an ultrasound, and there will be a nuclear something or other next week.
The ultrasound showed no gallstones. My doctor said that doesn't prove that there isn't a problem with one of the bile ducts, and the nuclear _?_ test will check the flow of bile.

I'm willing to try a wait-and-see approach, and treat it nutritionally in the meantime. If it happens again, or becomes life threatening, then I'll consider surgery.

Thank you!

10. When are you having the
"nuclear" something test? Do they give you something to drink or is it injected? I assume it's like a dye tracer. I'm also assuming he did white cell counts if you still have your appendix? When mine ruptured, I had to return to the ER the next day and DEMAND a WBC.

An NP that used to speak at events I attended recommended this flush. The title mentions "liver". There is a common bile duct, so they are linked. Milk Thistle is very good for liver function. Also, lemon juice, almonds and Red Clover. Be very sparing in use of OTC meds. Rx's are sometimes linked to liver damage. Lecithin is a great emulsifier too. That would be worth taking. Not prescribing. These are things my research and personal experience report.

12. Doc has now said to hold off on the test.
Because I'm feeling well and have no pain, he said I'm better off to wait for the problem to reoccur before having the test done. He said it takes some time, and there is a chance that the test itself can cause another attack as it causes the gallbladder to contract.

I'm seeing this as a wake-up call. Time to get well, on all fronts. :)

6. Ouchie! Gallbladder attacks are the worst!
Sorry you went through the pain, Dora. That happened to me a couple of years ago--I found out much later that my attack was so bad I should have gone to the hospital. At the time I had no idea. Mine was stress induced as well (18-month-old not sleeping, full-time job, 50-minute commute, etc. etc. etc.) I had other, smaller attacks (just twinges in my back), also stress induced. Interestingly enough, mine went away after I removed the stressors (quit my job, moved out of the boonies).

I did do a liver/kidney flush, but not in response to the gallbladder attack--it was just something my holistic m.d. recommended for weight loss and removal of toxins (clean out the insides). It was a whole package, but I can't remember the name of it. The liquid diet was a powder that tasted like fruit punch. Did that for a couple of days, then started adding in some other liquids, then solids.

It was okay. Lost 5 lbs. but gained them back (of course). However, I was glad that I detoxed.

8. I haven't done one yet
Edited on Mon Oct-06-08 01:54 AM by arikara
but it has been recommended that I do so by my accupuncturist. He lent me the book called The Liver and Gallbladder Miracle Cleanse by Andreas Moritz as its quite specific on how it should be done safely as you describe with the apple juice, lemon, olive oil and epsom salts. Until I have the time to do it, I periodically take a herbal preparation which keeps the pain under control. Unfortunately I can't tell you what is in it however I think its pretty standard chinese medicine if you know of a practitioner you can trust in this time of distrust for all things Chinese, it may be an option for you. It has certainly worked for me. I suffered with what I thought was chronic back pain, had been through every type of doctor and therapist over 15 years until I found this wonderful magic man who got rid of the pain by treating my gall bladder.

edit: finish thought.

9. Thank you.
All the recipes I've seen are similar to yours. I went ahead and did my own "cleanse" on Saturday night, without the epsom salts. I may try it again, but with salts this time.

My condition has improved radically - no fever and no pain since Friday night. Today I feel like nothing ever happened. The proactive things I did to address this were 1) drinking copious amounts of organic unfiltered apple juice, 2) using HerbPharm brand "liver tonic" tincture, and 3) drink 1/4 c. each of olive oil and lemon juice on Saturday night.

When I do the olive oil/lemon juice/epsom salt cleanse, I'll post and report the results!

11. olive oil/lemon juice/epsom salt cleanse cleaned me out good. great stuff.
the epsom salts taste terrible, so just pinch your nose and drink it fast. i drank a portion 4 times over a 16 hour period, 2 to flush your bowels out and get your soft muscle tissue nice and relaxed, and 2 times after waking up later to clean out the little green balls of gall. the olive oil & lemon juice is taken right before sleep; there's a good recipe online, which you probably are familiar with. the most recent time i did the cleanse there was like less than 5 little green/grey balls; whereas my first cleanse had hundreds and hundreds of green/grey balls.

hopefully you'll feel better after all this.

14. Can anyone recommed a particular recipe/mixture?
I could do a web search but I would prefer to hear what you have actually tried and what your experiences were. I've never had a gall bladder attack but I have what TCM practitioners have "liver stagnancy."
It sounds like something that can't hurt and could help.

17. Lecithin dissolves gall stones.
Take a couple of thousand mgs. for a couple of days, and it will take the pressure off.
