3. Boogie brought in a squirrel's tail.
Edited on Thu Aug-28-08 01:01 PM by votesomemore
I FREAKED. I finally put on my latex gloves and got two plastic bags to pick it up. I never pick up dead stuff. Well, spiders, but no warm blooded stuff. The gloves stuck to one of the bags and they fell apart and so there was the obligatory scream, but I managed to get it to the dumpster.

Boogie is now formally looking for new digs. This place is not suitable for him, and I just cannot handle what's going on. He needs wide open spaces.

Are you sure you don't want a part-time house cat? ;) No pressure.

6. Boogie is doing what is natural
to cats that are lucky enough to be able to be outdoors.

I won't let my two boys outside as I live on the backend of a wilderness, and, having moved these boys from an apartment in a suburb of Pittsburgh to this rural setting in NY, I know they would not be able to handle themselves.

But, I have had cats that brought in mice, lizards (when I lived in New Mexico), and moles. My take is that they really love their "feeders", and, they really want that person to know it. What better way than to drop the "kill" at their "beloved's" feet?

Boogie was giving you some love and you didn't even know it. LOL!

7. I kind of knew that
but, you're right. In the heat of the incident, that thought did not enter my mind. He used to bring in lizards or geckos, but I've never been presented with a furry tail. He LOVED playing with it.

I know he loves me a lot. I love him too, and that's why I think he would be happier some place he can enjoy the wild more. I have to leave a window open, and I won't be able to do that indefinitely. He won't go out the door, because there are people walking back and forth, and there was that herd of cats. He not used to so much commotion. He has found a sticker patch somewhere, which is what he really likes. He enjoys coming in and having all the stickers picked off.

Also, my location future is uncertain, and it may come up at a time when I am rushed and not able to take the care that I want to in finding a new home for him. :(

4. If I had a team of beetles, then
they could have picked up the tail.

5. Trade in Boogie for a brigade of beetles? It could work.
But then there's cleaning up all the beetle droppings....
