Predictions by Mary Bogart for the future.
I don't know how accurate she is but these gave me the chills.

http://www.marybogart.com/predictions.htm

Mary has recently received a flood of predictions regarding national and international issues:

There will be an extreme draught, similar to the “Grape of Wrath”, in the Central U.S. the summer of 2008. This will increase the likelihood of earthquakes in this area that start in 2008 and continue thru 2009. Massive death of livestock and extreme financial hardship for farmers in this area.
The following areas are in the process of being permanently destroyed: United States – New Orleans, Louisiana; Long Island, New York; Florida from Lakeland thru the Keys; all coastal areas of Texas; the entire Southern half of California and the states along the Mississippi River. Central/South America – majority of islands in Central America; all coastal areas of Chile and Argentina. Africa – majority of Mozambique and Madagascar, coastal areas of Namibia & Somalia; Morocco. Western Europe – all coastal areas of Greenland; majority of coastal areas around England, France, Spain, Portugal and Norway. Middle East – severe flooding of both the Red and Persian Seas; Yemen and Oman will be completely destroyed by water; Entire Southern half of India will be destroyed by both water and earthquakes; the entire “Holy Land” of Jerusalem; Asia – Northern China & Mongolia will be destroyed by flooding and earthquakes; all of Korea and most of North Vietnam; all of North Japan; South Pacific - Northwest portion of Australia; majority of the Hawaiian Islands.

However, I'm getting on with earthquake proofing my house that I have been putting off.

1. Here in SW MO, we are getting too much rain.
But the other day, I saw that drought was coming. Also, I feel famine is coming. I told my husband we need to have a good crop of vegetables early on, so we can put some up. He keeps arguing with me.
I also said we need to have a calf butchered, and he keeps arguing with me. If I didn't know better, I'd think he was on this board.
But mark my words, we will need all the hay we had put up from last year left over, and we will need the food.
There will be food shortages across the US this year and next.
We need to put up all we can get right now, against the famine.

I think, however, some of her predictions are screwy. This happens often, in my opinion, when a seer fails to realize that more than one reality is possible.
IF a man is elected, she states he will die in office. Then she says Rudy Giuliiani will be elected because of a terrorist attack on the US before the elections.

I could comment on this, but I won't.

But the drought is a great possibility I think. I also think 2008 will be a banner year for fires in the SW US; and I think we will have fewer hurricanes but the ones that we have will be strong and devastating to the areas they hit. I don't feel the tsunami thing that some are predicting; but remember, a tsunami can occur as a small ripple, anytime.

2. I went " wait a minute!" about the Rudy Giuliani prediction too.
It occurred to me that the RNC could nominate Rudy at the convention if they thought he would be the best person to win especially if we did have another 9-11 type of attack. It would be a great and cynical way for the Republicans to claim to their gullible base that only Rudy can save us, like they did with 9-11 and Bush, who IMHO was at fault for 9-11 because of his negligence.

Also, there could be crossed wires here as others have predicted a President would die in office of a heart attack in the future. Some have said it would be Cheney who would finish out Bush's term if he somehow disappeared before January 2009.

In any case, I believe we will have some surprises in store for us before this is all over.

3. on a more mundane level
our Winter here in NYC was astonishingly mild. A bit of snow here and there and perhaps a cold snap or two, but nothing like what it should have -- and has in the past -- been. Conversely, my relatives on the West Coast were waking up to snow and frigid temperatures after a lifetime of rather mild (albeit wet) Winters!

I doubt the Repugs would shoehorn in Giuliani after his pathetic showing during the Primary Season. He basically sat back in Florida and figured he'd get the nod without the work. I doubt the Party appreciates his breathtaking arrogance.

5. It was the same in southwestern Pennsylvania. We didn't have more than 2 inches...
of snow at any one time this winter, and it only happened a few times. (There have been times in the past where we've gotten 3 feet of snow at a time, several times a year. We still had some ice, but that's more likely to happen when the temperature is a bit higher on a regular basis because the rain freezes into ice overnight.)

7. I have to agree about Giuliani.
Sylvia Browne also predicted a win for Giuliani, but I think wishful thinking is clouding their predictions as it can for so many. I would like to read what someone who doesn't have a dog in this fight a non-American would say.

4. My take on her predictions
would fall into the category of " Paranoid Delusions". Plus; she covered the globe for catastrophe predictions so I would say she is doing a CYA...and the odds of one even happening is 50/50 since her broadbased predictions only left out Britney Spears.

6. You'd think she'd have had the
sense to update her prediction that Guiliani would be elected once he dropped out of the race.

While I can imagine a scenario or two in which McCain won't get the nomination, he WILL be nominated at the Republican convention.

And I've been reading predictions for at least forty years about Atlantis and Lemuria suddenly appearing, so I place absolutely no believability with those.

And when did she make the prediction about flooding in Mozambique?

Also, where are some of her past predictions archived so we can see what kind of a track record she has?

Just trying to apply some rational thinking here.

8. Maybe she hasn't updated it because she doesn't think she's
wrong? Any rabbits the RNC might pull out of their hats at the convention, I don't put past the party of cheaters and liars. Although I agree that St. Rudy would be a very long shot.

Anyway, I put this up for people to discuss because this is the forum for that.

9. If she doesn't think she's wrong
or if you start thinking in terms of pulling rabbits out of a hat at the convention, you may not have any understanding of how the nominating process works. It's like this: McCain has the delegates (votes) to win the nomination. The only reason he might not be nominated would be if he dies or is seriously impaired before the Convention. Which could happen, but I don't really see Guiliani as the one emerging in that case. Although I can't offer any opinion on who'd they go for -- I don't have any psychic abilities, nor do I know enough of the inside dealings of Republicans to venture a guess. But I do understand the party process system. I'm involved in the process with the Democrats, and just yesterday attended the Congressional District Convention in my state of Kansas where we elected our delegates (actually 19 of the 40) to the Democratic National Convention.

And it's not just the Guiliani thing on her predictions page, but everything there. The fact that the page isn't dated, and there didn't seem to be any links to anything that would give us a track record for her gives me pause.

10. We are talking about predictions here.
What seems rational may not be what comes to be in the end. I'm not defending any of these people. I'm just putting up what they are saying and it will be interesting to see how close they have come to what will happen. Psychic predictions are not like predicting trends where someone views all the evidence and probabilities and then makes an educated guess. Psychic predictions literally come out of the blue.
