Light for my little Beagle please.....
Edited on Mon Mar-03-08 12:11 AM by teenagebambam
Don't know what happened, but we had a lot of company in this weekend, and he ended up with a terribly constipated little system. Went to the pet ER and finally did go, though not as much as the vet would have liked. So he's coming home now with a stool softener and probably a sleepless night for me and his other daddY!

1. Good vibes coming your way and his.
But isn't the whole purpose of beagles to keep their humans up at night?

3. Lots of light and healing energy to your little buddy.
May he return to healthy wholeness quickly and easily. (This or something better for the highest good of all involved.)

4. Oh, poor little baby.
I see in another thread your sister does Reiki - perhaps you could ask her to help too?

Sending healing energy while I envision your baby healthy, happy, and whole, smiling once more.

5. What's his name? It helps in sending energy.
Or at least it helps me to focus. Sure is a sweetie. He's got that "worried" dog expression that I love so much.

He LOOKS like a sweetie alright, but he's a little devil!

7. May the angels surround that little devil, Fred, and ease
his discomfort. Have you tried canned pumpkin or green beans?

9. Thanks, all
Fred is perking up a little. The vet couldn't find a thing wrong when I took him back today, except some mild inflammation of the small intestine, and $600 dollars later we're home with an order for Fred not to eat for 48 hours to let his digestive system "re-set" itself. Luckily, daddies just sold some things on ebay that should just about cover the bill (so much for jump-starting our savings account THIS month....)

11. That poor beagle....I hope Fred is doing alright with not being
able to eat for such a long period, but maybe he isn't feeling like eating. I too have a beagle. He sits just like Fred. Unfortunately my Beagle is the King of the house. He loves to eat everthing. Every once in a while we have a scare with my daughters sandwhich bag that she might have a bit of a peanutbutter and jelly sandwhich in. He seems to find it everytime.

14. I think it was harder on us than on him!
But he finally got some breakfast this morning!

Fred WOULD be king of the house but for his bossy older sister, who didn't mind at ALL being able to eat while Fred couldn't!

16. So glad he was able to eat. So you have both Fred and his
sister. Big smile!!!! My girls almost talked me into that. But that was after they talked me into two bunnies that were so cuddling in their cage at the store, and not to many months after we had them home, they needed to be separated.

15. It's great to hear that Fred's better.
Did your vet tell you about some of the special diets available for pups with sensitive digestive systems? I've had some of my cats on a kitty version ever since Genghis Khat ate six inches of shoestring last year, and it's been good for all of them.
