The spirits of the mountain exist in strength. Their roots are deep in the Earth, their heads pierce the air and mount to the sky above. They dance from flat to peak and, spiraling, descend again. I've got a gig tonight at a College from 9-1 am (Ughhh) and it's located just under 3 hours away.
I have to drive through windy roads through the foothills. There is no highway that goes there for 2/3rds of the way.
Transiting Mercury is approaching my decendant and transiting Uranus and the North Node.
I've done these sorts of gigs many times over the past 8 years but I've got some weird irrational feelings about the journey.
Could you guys kindly send me some protective light ?
Thanks in advance and great blessings on this thread and on all who post here.
Lovely opening HC.

This kinda stuff never phased me at all before now.
I've driven across country five times mostly without incident and it's weird that it does now but part of it is my low beams are really really low and I should get them adjusted again.
I drove those boxy model Volvos ("boxy but good") for 28 years and now I've a model that handles really differently. It's really front loaded and truly stinks in the snow.
The visibility issue is huge though and I hate being rude and using high beams obnoxiously.
This is such a trivial issue really but I was really dealing with a huge wave of paranoia about this trip for some weird reason and under far less than tranquil aspects.
The kids were great as always though.
Or as I keep telling a friend who is really ridiculously nostalgic for the last millennium. . . "The kids are all right. . .the kids are all right. . .the kids are all right. . ." LOL
Thanks again. Now I'll stop hijacking the prayer thread and mea culpa for doing so.

Makes my Pagan heart warm. Speaking of which, I have a gratitude and request. I feel as Mother Earth gave me a special gift today, a piece of her in the form of a gold quartz pendulum. It picked me out a few weeks ago, and I had to say yes. It was a beautiful hill country spring day. Work is going well. I just felt fortunate to be alive.
However (isn't there always), I am stressing myself out at home. My "rm is driving me nutz". I know it is my thinking and resistance that is the real culprit. I need some help accepting and letting it be as it is. I don't need to be driving myself crazy.
Thanks to all.

I went to the Abraham Hicks meetup today. We viewed the first DVD from "The Art of Allowing". It was awesome. I came home thanking Source for all the ways rm helps. Pays rent, doesn't make a mess, is very quiet, PUTS UP WITH ME! When I got home, he had gone above and beyond (as usual) by doing some things around here. That accomplished will let off a lot of the steam that builds up by the former arrangement which had him underfoot a lot of the time. I wonder if wonder-agent knows what a special lady you are?

(Forgive my use of the word God, but I'm quoting here) God grant me the serenity To accept the things I cannot change The courage to change the things I can And wisdom to know the difference. I find the attitude expressed in the prayer very helpful when I get stressed out. What I often do is ask myself, is there anything I can do about this right now? If the answer is, No, it makes it easier for me to let go of what I am stressing about. And in that letting go, my mind is often cleared to where I do get an idea of something to do about a situation. At the very least, I am able to calm myself.

(I have requests for two people, but want to post them separately.)
I have a co-worker who is terminally ill (lung cancer that has spread to his brain). There is nothing that can be done. I have seen him a few times recently, and sadly, I didn't even recognize him. However, he does seem peaceful and content.
Quite simply, I ask for peace in his passing.
I also ask that he be given the opportunity to pass along to the medical community the knowledge he possesses. He is a specialized doctor with decades of extensive hands-on experience, and I have heard many people comment that by losing him, society will lose information that no one else knows. His death could potentially result in the loss of other people.
May he have the strength and ability to share his knowledge before he is too sick to do so.
Thank you.

I ask that he remain at peace in reference to his situation, that he's able to complete everything that needs to be completed before his passing, and that his passing be easy.
I ask that the holy beings that help with transition be with him during this time and that he can feel their loving presence and take comfort from this. (This or something better for the highest good of all involved.)

For my FIL.
I just found out on Friday that my FIL has stage D heart failure (D is the worst stage). He has always had heart problems, but I did not realize how severe it is.
However, if he took better care of himself, he would actually benefit. If he exercised, lost weight, and ate a healthier diet, he would see significant improvements in his health and might actually help stop the progression of his disease.
He is young and could have many quality years left. I think that he has had heart problems for so long, he just thinks of early death as inevitable. So I ask that he recognize that he has the power to make a difference in his own well-being and that he could have many years of enjoyment left to spend with his grandchildren who love him so dearly.
Thank you.

I almost pm'd you in a panic this morning with a request for advice on what time I should schedule the interview for. I took a deep breath and asked myself what would be best: Easy Peasy. I feel like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz - the answer she was looking for was with her the whole time, no? I wonder how ruby slippers would look in an interview...

| 82. Many are feeling frustrated and discouraged right now. Is it Jupiter retrograde? |
 |
Info on Jupiter retrograde:
Jupiter retrograde is when the things we think we need but aren't really adding to our growth, are somehow removed from our lives. The end result is beneficial and the quest to understand is the journey and the teaching.
When Jupiter is retrograde, there is a feeling that things are not going well, or that it is taking more effort or time to reach success. Jupiter is about justice and requires soul searching to see truth. Jupiter is the planet of expansion and inflation, so there will be a pulling back or a deflation. At the beginning of the retrograde, there is a yo-yo effect of all Jupiter qualities, so we may see things go up, inflated egos, and then a crash. Then they go up again quickly only to see another down cycle.
During the retrograde period, even the most seemingly insignificant of obstacles could throw a long-term monkey wrench into any plans you've made. Sounds sinister, but in actuality this is a positive -- not to mention cyclically natural -- opportunity for you to step back and ensure that your actions are in line with your goals. That which is inaccessible today will prove unnecessary in the long run; further, the actual withholding will turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
Everyhing in a retro will seem long and drawn out.
On a personal level it should be a introspective period of time where each person should search for his life purpose or to see how their lives and actions are positioned based on this. We should expand on inside and to become more closer with our inner nature and our soul. Depending on the transits that Jupiter is making on your natal chart you should pay attention to that particular aspects of your life.

Think I'm going to blow off a family get together under these aspects but there are other reasons as well.

amateur status when discussing astrology. I do try to learn a few things. Don't know how to do degrees and don't have an ephemeris (or really how to read one). Guess part of that is having lived with someone for years who could read it and explain what was going on. . .
However, my chart has this > Jupiter trine Ascendant Beginning of January 2007 until end of August 2007 Jupiter trine Sun Mid January 2007 until mid September 2007 Uranus trine Jupiter Mid March 2007 until mid February 2008
The sun is in the 1st house and Uranus in 12th. That's rather scary. I might start seeing visions.

Transits, especially traditional astrology is not my area of expertise. But I think that is what you are looking at. Good stuff.
From a karmic standpoint it can be good luck and expansion or over the top, indulgence. Most likely the former since it is a trine.

My ego was, um, high the last couple of days. The "crash," which was relatively minor, hit me hard. (Roommate was mean to me; it made me sadder than it should have.)
And despite the fact that nothing has really changed about my situation except my perspective on it, everything seems so bleak right now.

Thanks, retrograde Jupiter, and fellow A, S & AH posters. And guides. Not to mention rutilated quartz--which really can help one get to the root of all problems. I understand more about what's been keeping me away from finding the job I need. It wasn't that complicated, actually. Something about fear of succcess--carried out to a rather extreme degree.

I lurk here a lot. I love this forum and read here daily but don't post much. I would like to ask for healing for my beloved daughter who has been diagnosed with Epsten Barr and CMV virus. Her health has been in a serious state of decline for the last decade. She is now too tired and weak to do much and feels her professional and personal life slipping away. She is the best person I know. I appreciate you holding her in the Light and sending her healing energy. Thank you for letting me post this. OB

| 114. I'm asking for "get over it!" light |
 |
Sigh. I have one of those "principle of the matter" situations that is just consuming me and all I can do is get over it. I'm dealing with a service business that is being rigid, unreasonable, and providing really bad customer service. And I can't win the argument. It's a family-owned business, there's no one higher on the totem pole to complain to and they just aren't going to budge. Numerous people have complained and it has fallen on deaf ears. (We're all backed against a wall because pulling our business means disappointing and punishing our kids for something that isn't their fault.) I have a workaround to the problem that is inconvenient and stressful for me, but there's nothing else I can do because I don't want to risk making the situation worse. But I must admit, I can't stand injustice, so this is really eating at me and I just can't let it go. And I'm further infuriated because I've repeatedly donated my time and my services to them over the years to the tune of a few thousand dollars, so now I'm feeling very unappreciated. Unfortunately, now I can't concentrate and I've even lost my appetite. I talked about it with friends thinking I would feel better, but they were just as appalled as I am, so that actually made it worse. Help.

One way to look at it is to think about it as your not really knowing what's happening behind the scenes. I like to think of life as a tapestry, and while we're in this world, we can only see the back of it (with all of the knots, etc.) The front of it is absolutely beautiful, and it's not until we get to the other side that we can actually recognize this and see what any particular situation added to us (because we're really the tapestry, after all). If I were in your situation, I would just try to act with integrity every step of the way; I think that this is what is expected of us by the Universe in situations like this. Much good may be happening because of this situation in ways unknown to you. I'm still sorry that you have to go through this.

That is a helpful thought, and I know it to be true, so I will focus on integrity and what is best for all involved.
Hopefully, they will open their minds and walk a mile in their customer's shoes so that this problem does not happen again or cause them to lose business.

... I know it's probably not helpful to you in the "here and now" but know that somewhere down the road, even though you may not be involved - or even see it - they'll be visited with 'theirs'. The doing unto will come back to haunt them. In the meantime, for you, take strength in knowing that the Universe doesn't overlook people like them, and that you will get over it and some little kernel of goodness will come your way from tolerating that injustice in as graceful a way as you possibly can. Oh, and taking a good long walk in the woods punctuated with cuss words and hand gestures never hurt either.

| 117. To all those in need. One of my favorite Jewish prayers/meditations. |
 |
(I meant to post it last week at Passover.)
Prayer invites God to let the Divine Presence suffuse our spirits, to let the Divine Will prevail in our lives. Prayer cannot bring water to a parched field, nor mend a broken bridge, nor rebuild a ruined city. But prayer can water an arid soul, mend a broken heart, and rebuild a weakened will.

... my horoscope for this coming week says that the "psychic" window is open for me, which is in complete agreement synchronistic things that have been happening and experiences which have reinforced my "sixth (seventh?) sense" over the past couple weeks. Therefore, I am going to try in a very positive way to begin to manifest something that I've been dancing around for awhile. I've had near misses with it: probably because I wasn't 100% certain that I wanted it in my life. Or maybe I just wasn't really ready to accept it. Would appreciate any thoughts, hints, etc. as I re-approach this goal, this time from a humble perspective and with earnest and true intentions. Thanks all !
