Could we send some love to Molly Ivins?
I don't know how many of you have seen this thread in GD, but apparently, Molly Ivins' cancer is "back with a vengeance". I love Molly; she is, in my opinion, one of the best and bravest and smartest people around. I love her wit and her humor. I admire her courage and her spirit. She was my introduction to the Fool on the Hill (aka George W. Bush), through her book, "Shrub".

Molly, I want you to stay with us for awhile, but if the fight gets too hard, if you are tired and want to go home, I will send you on with love in my heart (and, I admit, a lot of sadness).

She and Ann Richards are tied together in my mind, as two of the greatest women I've ever known, but sadly, never met.

Peace to Molly.

1. Have been sending love to Molly for days if not years.
She is one of the true honest voices we still have. I remember her plaintive statement that she and Jim Hightower tried to warn us all about * in '00, but no one would listen.

Your comments about Molly and Ms Richards are a lovely tribute and really even handed.

It feels as though she is up against something that is quite forboding.

So let's send her even more love. To go forth with it as she may see fit or to be rejuvanated by it physically is indeed her choice,

I'd selfishly like to see her stick around for the great unraveling though.

She's certainly been the source of great inspiration to me and so many others.

Thanks for calling our attention to her perilous plight.

2. It's difficult not to feel angry about this.
But, having grown up with a mother who worked in a hospital, I also learned the value of grace in letting someone go, if that is what they desire. Sometimes, doing that can be the most beautiful, loving, and caring thing we can do for another.

Having said that, I admit I also would selfishly like to see her stick around for awhile.

My heart feels a bit heavy right now, but I am also willing to let go, if that is what she desires.

11. Yes she should be here for when it all unravels.
But I imagine she will have a front row seat where ever she is.

5. Love and peace to Molly. And a huge thank you for
sharing your wisdom and laughter with us. It's hard to imagine the world without Molly. I was listening to Molly on my way to work on 9/11, and the memory has stayed with me and I think of her often. Words fail me, but we love you, Molly!

6. Yes of course. It is not looking good this time for her, is it?
She has been such a strong and wonderful voice in the media wilderness.
I do not know how we are going to get along without her.

9. Carry on the fight for her.
Many of us may not have the wit of Miss Molly, but she's always been an inspiration to me, so the best thing I can do for her is to keep working to make things better.

13. Update: not good news, I'm afraid:
Molly is losing her fight, and is now at home. Thank you dear lady for all your words of warning and advice - so sad that not enough of us listened when we had the chance.
