A couple of recent OPs
and the energy that was swirling around during the election period, and my excursions to the big boards, plus the updates by our people in the house, make me think of this.

Is it appropriate to ask for help on the other boards? We are a sanctuary/family here. At least that's my understanding.

I'll just offer this invitation. If anyone gets stuck or writes out there in the general public of DU, or otherwise needs backup, please ask here.

DU, gratefully, has the journal option. I'm more of a real-time person. I'm not here all the time, but when I am, up to date is a sales point for DU.

Just saying, I wish SeattleGirl and others would post here, my first stop, to let us know to catch your back. It's just supportive. And shows family values. Like many here, I am sick of the 'values' that have been shoved off on us.

Our community is special. Let is spread.
Reflective today.

1. I agree, we could help each other when in hand to hand combat
on the other boards.

Just holler, some of us can help, or drag
the combatant out by the toes if need be. :(

2. There's the spirit ..
I appreciate when ASAH members draw my attention to something. Because most of the time it is catch as catch can.

And even the threads that inspire us. I am so thankful to those who share them.

3. I owe mucho gratitude to those from this forum
who've been wonmderfully supportive of my sometimes foolish forays in to GD.

I too wish SeattleGirl had given us the heads up earlier on her brutal Monday.

If memory serves, I think the only time I've noticed that skinner took issue with people piggy backing into the larger forums and rec'd threads disproportionately was when a bunch of Clark supporters did so.

Our stuff is generally trying to enlighten and spiritualize the boards and usually is apolitical except taking issue with the pukes and trolls.

But I agree votes, am tremendously thankful for all the past support and fully intend to draw from it again if need be.

I hope to post a prayer for the upcoming Solstice and will do so in here first for some feedback.

Thanks in advance.

4. You did a stunning job ..
in the other thread, posting all the awesome prayers. I haven't had time to read them all yet, but can see the amount of toil you put in. Very much appreciated, and something to hang onto.

Side note, but on topic for the bent of the forum the past couple of days ..
I 'hate' Christmas. This time of year used to depress the hell outa me. Same thing every cmas eve for 13 years! The inlaws. And the cousins. Everyone saw each other once a year. 12/24. Isn't that special.

I gave up the celebrations 6 years ago when I embraced my paganism. I so wish to gather with a group who celebrates Solstice. The only reason I can endure these dreary winter days is because Sol will be back on the 22nd!

Yes, I worship the sun god. May his return bless us all.

5. Thanks, votes
In the thread where I took such a beating, I had no idea my post would get the kind of reaction it did, so didn't think of notifying anyone here. However, in the future, if that happens, I'll definitely call on this wonderful group of people for support.

6. I had an ulterior motive
when I posted this. Sad, but true.

That is . what do the wise souls of ASAH have to say about the atrocities we face? And which are brought to us up front and bold on DU at large?

There is a limited amount of time we can devote to questioning status quo.
Should we? Poor Stella has worn herself out trying to enlighten those who just choose not to enlighten. Today. Tomorrow might be a different story and I will never give up my optimism because it gives me breath. Keeps me alive.

So. With that in mind, if you dare, take a look at 'us'.

7. Don't sweat it about "Poor Stella." LOL
Yeah it's exhaustive at times but my source is ultimately limitless. Just have some fleeting fatigue from time to time.

Just have to kick my own butt and get out of my 12th sometimes and into my 1st or perhaps my 11th from time to time.

In truth, I've consistantly been thoroughly AMAZED by how, in the last instance, there were only two detractors. Otherwise all were totally receptive and responsive especially the poli-types. I figure they are either older hippies that don't mind some gentle reminding or younger folk who never forgot.

One of these days "Poor Stella" will figure out just how to charge for her questionably illustrious services. :)

Then I'll write my autobiography and the first line of which will be. . ."Suddenly, she implausibly became a philanthropist. . ."

9. You said that philathropist line before.
but the meaning escapes me. All I can figure is you are already a philanthropist, but not with cash. With good vibes. I'm about ready to go on a personal trek too. Almost. My toe is on the line. I have not been able to shake this dang cold! I went pretty high speed last month and so now it must be time to just shut down. I despise it . on one hand. but the other hand thinks that I must need some down time. But who wants to be down! ugh-a ..

lol to the "Poor Stella". lol . that tickles me. You remind me of my RL dynamo friend, Cheryl, who just goes and gives and never stops giving. She has so much energy and love and it is just like a worship service to be in her presence. But she has no pretense whatsoever. She is a hug-bug and thinks I have something to add to the Universe, even when I'm pretty sure I don't. That's who you remind me of.

11. All we can do is keep hammering away at it when we are up to it.
I am always posting acerbic comments on GD and getting bashed from time to time.

If I can get just one person to think about things then I am happy.
We do it one person at a time....
