Did you guys see this thread in G.D. the other day?? The Merlin Project
Looks like a couple of scientists/astrology experts got together and figured out a computer-generated astrology-type reading method, evidently so accurate that the State Department has hired them.

I had never heard about them! Unfortunately, it looks like they work for the dark side.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...

But, just like the State Department, it looks like they do private readings, as well.

1. I'm sorry this post was archived...thanks sue
I wonder if the right - because of their seeming ability to "believe" compared to the more "skeptical" aspect of some liberals/left, allows them to get the jump on a lot of technology -that may not ( OK probably will not) be used in the best way for mankind---and because of "science/skeptics/know-it-alls" poo-poohing a lot of possibilities, we are already behind the eight ball in that we don't even "believe" these things can exist or do exist..

How many times have we been laughed at & ridiculed for some things we post here and in the meantime, the *right* contiues to put these high-tech off the wall scenarios to work??

Could it be that some of our mainstream laughing at fringe or conspiracy theories super know it all scientific minds may be missing something big & "screwing us all" in the process?

Just some thoughts....

I have been curious why so many "scientific skeptics" here have to ridicule and laugh at those of us who just want some answers-even if they don't fit in with the "theories" of todays' science......

And either that was a really slow-posting day, or nobody else saw the thread, either. I wonder if people were afraid to discuss it, given the new rules on "conspiracy theories".

This astrology reading matrix machine certainly IS taken seriously, and they've "proven" a 70% accuracy rate. I would think that is the kind of "scientific evidence" the skeptics LOVE to quote, from "reputable" sources. Maybe that's not good enough!

Then there are the UFO's and earthquake/tsunami issues, and it turns out that many terrorist experts have wondered about the use of explosives by terrorists to actually create natural disasters, even in Yellowstone Park.

The thing is, there have been so many UFO sightings that have been filmed, and written about in newspapers that all seem to pretty much match the same description, that I wonder if it even qualifies as conspiracy theory anymore. I know some pundits like to mock people who discuss it, but the ones reporting it would include major newspapers in Phoenix, Atlanta (AJC), and all over California. Now, we have the Asia Times, etc.

An enormous number of UFO sightings before Tsunami and earthquake in South and Southeast Asia were they trying to warn?

Staff reporter
December 31, 2004

Was it a coincidence? Lots of people now from the Tsunami and earthquake hit areas are reporting about strange Unidentified Flying Objects they saw a few days before the mega quake and Tsunami. People in Indian state of Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar Island as well as many in Indonesia were reporting for some time about strange flying objects in the sky.

The local media in these areas did not know what to do with the reported sightings. But it seems now from the reports that many UFOs were in the sky and were trying to communicate something.

Some even are conjecturing that this horrific Tsunami and earthquake may be some kind of experiment. In Port Blair, the capital city of Andaman Island of India, last week some tourists saw strange silent flying objects. In Sumatra, remote places also had similar experiences for quite some time.

According to some UFO experts, UFOs always hover around the epicenter of major calamities. They somehow sense these coming natural disasters. Some believe that they try and communicate with us to warn. Some even believe these UFOs simulate natural disasters in the earth...cont'd

India may be the first country to explain to the world about extra-terrestrial and UFO contacts the secret debate is on

Staff Reporter
January 06, 2005

New Delhi is in the middle of a big secret internal debate. On one side the largest democracy of the world is eager to explain to its citizens and to the world about the ongoing contacts with the UFOs and extra-terrestrials. On the other hand there are invisible untold international protocols that prohibit doing anything that may cause worldwide fear and panic.

It is well accepted between the UFO and extra-terrestrial experts that all the five nuclear powers are in contact with the beings from other stars for quite some time. Recently India has seen enormous news on UFO contacts and secret UFO bases in Himalayas near the Chinese bases. In Ladak, for example the locals clearly point out the everyday phenomenon of large triangular spacecrafts coming out below the ground and Indian security forces protecting them...cont'd

China and India both know about underground UFO base in the Himalayan border area deep into the tectonic plates

Staff Reporter
January 09, 2005

Kongka La is the low ridge pass in the Himalayas (the blue oval in the map). It is in the disputed India-China border area in Ladakh. In the map the red zone is the disputed area still under Chinese control in the Aksai Chin area. The Chinese held northeastern part is known as Aksai Chin and Indian South West is known as Ladakh. This is the area where Indian and Chinese armies fought major war in 1962. The area is one of the least accessed area in the world and by agreement the two countries do not patrol this part of the border. According to many tourists, Buddhist monks and the local people of Ladakh, the Indian Army and the Chinese Military maintain the line of control. But there is something much more serious happening in this area.

According to the few local people on the Indian and Chinese sides, this is where the UFOs are seen coming out of the ground, According to many, the UFO underground bases are in this region and both the Indian and Chinese Government know this very well..

Recently, some Hindu pilgrims on their way to Mount Kailash from the Western pass, came across strange lights in the sky. The local guides while in the Chinese territory told them that this was nothing new and is a normal phenomenon from Kongka Pass area - the tensed border region between India and China. This strange lighted triangular silent crafts show up from underground and moves almost vertically up. Some of the adventurous pilgrims wanted to look into the site. They were first turned back by the Chinese guard posts as they were refused entry from the Chinese side. When they tried to approach the site from Indian side, the Indian border patrol also turned them down in spite of their permit to travel between the two countries....cont'd

10. Read the article again and the one from Minstrel Boy with the
speech from Werner Von Braun's assistant.

"locals clearly point out the everyday phenomenon of large triangular spacecrafts coming out below the ground and Indian security forces protecting them...cont'd"

Unidentified flying objects come from underground ?? and are protected by the Indian and Chinese armies?? (whose governments are in the oil and nuclear business with Halliburton and dimson cronies?)

Then put this together with Von Braun's assistant's speech.

"Convince the people the enemy is UFO's/ET's so that they (military-industrial-govt-private energy complex) can build and profit from a totally unnecessary missile defense system against ET's and it's all a big lie(paraphrasing)."

She also mentioned (this speech was in December 2000, a month after the stolen election, right?) that some of these weapons secretly were already in space. Satellites anyone?

The news articles mention the presence of UFO's prior to the earthquakes, "natural" calamities - and in excess before the quake and
Tsunami - and speculate that the "aliens" were trying to warn of the impending calamity.

What if they weren't UFO's. What if they were the UFO's that come up from underground. What if they were something used in conjunction with satellites - to pinpoint tectonic faults - to use some science -sonic method (the same methods used in testing oil depths and oil discovery or some science the average person is unaware of yet)
to disturb the fault ?

Why were the "UFO'S" seen extensively in those areas before the quake and tsunami?
" Lots of people now from the Tsunami and earthquake hit areas are reporting about strange Unidentified Flying Objects they saw a few days before the mega quake and Tsunami. People in Indian state of Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar Island as well as many in Indonesia were reporting for some time about strange flying objects in the sky.

No, I didnt read Skinner's letter to the New York Times, but I supposed he was trying to look mainstream.

Skinner appears to be extremely extremely extremely grounded. Meat and
potatoes. If you can't smell it, see it, hear it, it doesn't exit.

His attitude about astrology was pretty terrible.

And look how that has come around.

Why don;t we send him Werner Von Braun's assistant, Carol Rosin's letter? and let him digest that...Just for his information. :)

15. I'm reading Jacques Vallee's "Messengers of Deception" right now,
Edited on Tue Jan-11-05 11:06 PM by Minstrel Boy
and it's remarkable how it fits this discussion, though it was written about 25 years ago.

This is from his outline of a new theory for understanding the phenomenon:

1. UFOs operate according to an understanding of our universe that transcends ordinary space-time physics. If we are living in an "Associative Universe," as I am suggesting, then we must expect such paranormal effects, possibly triggered by an accessible to human consciousness.

2. The main effect of UFOs on their witnesses is a conditioning process. Through exposure to its powerful imagery, man appears to be acquiring new forms of behavior and new models of his relationship to the world of nature.

3. The social process caused by the belief in the phenomenon takes the form of new sects, movements, and "contact" cults. Close observation of these cults shows that they are monitered and in some cases deliberately manipulated by occult groups, government organizations, and extremist political movements.

It's Vallee's third point I find most significant in relation to the "Merlin Project," its UFO prediction, and also the reported warning of Von Braun.

From later in the book:

"The group of people who will first manage to harness the fear of cosmic forces and the emotions surrounding UFO contact to a political purpose will be able to exert incredible spiritual blackmail.

...

"I believe there is a very real UFO problem. I have also come to believe that it is being manipulated for political ends. And the data suggest that the manipulators may be human beings with a plan for social control. Such plans have been made before, and have succeeded. History shows that having a cosmic mythology as part of such a plan is not always necessary. But it certainly helps."

Vallee also draws a revealing comparison of seperate briefings with French and US govt officials. The French cabinet minister demonstrated genuine concern about what is going on (significantly, even the admission that something is going on). To the White House assistant Science Advisor, it was all about public relations.

He asked the French official if the "phenomenon, or at least its social effects, might be under the control of a human group - not necessarily a government?" The cabinent minister replied, "That possibility does exist. But we know what human beings would do with such power. I have seen the effects of power, believe me, in my years in government. If that turns out to be the answer, I will jump into the Seine without waiting for developments."

18. I think Rosin is credible, but
I have trouble with her interpretation of Von Braun's words, and also her implicit trust that he was being transparent with her. (I have a resistance to accepting on faith the word of a Paperclip scientist.) Rosin seems to suggest that Von Braun implied a manufactured threat, but I think a more likely explanation is the manipulation of a genuine threat.

Most of the recent "UFO" reports in Southeast Asia, India and China seem to be "fireballs" and most likely meteors. (There was one in California a few days ago, and yesterday I saw a story of a village in India that was terrified by a fireball.) I don't know if this is an unusual number of reports, or whether I'm just noticing them now, but I have seen a LOT since last Spring. The Iranian UFO business is of a different order, and is clearly not a natural phenomenon. Whether it's deep-black budget stuff or something else - or whether, at a certain level, the distinction is irrelevant - I don't know.

By the way, those interested may want to read the comments that have been appended to this story on my blog:

There is no coincidence between "fireballs"/"UFO's" appearing before quakes in Asia and before mudslides in California?

After reading about HAARP and other Tesla products of the govt?

21. yeah - stuff the coincidence theory; let's stick with conspiracy fact!
I've never been an Art Bell listener, but I do have clip of on-air phone call he had with a self-described former employee of Area 51 in 1997 that's rather chilling. Because it conforms with my deepest fears about what is kept hidden from us, and what is in store for us.

Now there's a note of caution with this, since I have read that the caller called again some time later to claim it was a hoax, though I haven't seen the evidence. Or, alternatively, it could all have been theatre. (The transmitter going dead during the conversation was certainly a nice touch.) So take this with a grain of salt.

Anyway, here's a partial transcript:

Caller (voice breaking up with apparent suppressed crying): OK, um, um, OK, what we're thinking of as aliens, Art, they're extradimensional beings, that, an earlier precursor of the space program they made contact with. They are not what they claim to be. They've infiltrated a lot of aspects of, of, of the military establishment, particularly the Area 51.

The disasters that are coming, they, the military, I'm sorry, the government knows about them. And there's a lot of safe areas in this world that they could begin moving the population to now, Art.

Art: So they're not doing, not doing anything.

Caller: They are not. They want those major population centers wiped out so that the few that are left will be more easily controllable...."

Art (fragment): ...discharged...

Caller (sobbing, then fragment): I say we g ....

Dead air

(After 2:29:43 elapsed time) Art: We are now on a backup system....The entire transmitting system went down...

Art's radio network engineer later reported that the network's communication satellite lost 50 channels (including Art's feed) at that moment, possibly due to a "lost earth sensor" (so it no longer pointed to the earth station).

Later, a Tucson caller who he said worked for Hughes (which Art said supplies microwave systems to Area 51) reported that his computer memory and electronic watch were zapped at the same time that the broadcast went dead, and suggested both events may have been caused by a cloud-reflected EMP (electromagnetic pulse, which are created by nuclear explosions or by special EMP generator).

25. hmmm... interesting.
Thanks for posting that, Pallas.

Synchronicity is perfectly at home in Jacques Vallee's idea of an "associative universe":

Vallee feels that our modern understanding of the universe is based on a mistake. We assume 'linear' causality: one thing leads to another. I punch you in the nose, you fall down.... Instead, Vallee postulates that we inhabit an 'associative' universe where conventional 'if A then B' logic does not apply. Rather, the logic of coincidence prevails. His analogy is a computer database. Computers store information randomly and retrieve it using commands.

When we enter keywords into a computer databank, we are attempting to produce coincidences. Where, in our conspiracy theory database, do the words 'assassination' and 'cancers' coincide? Just punch in the magic words and from the chaos of randomised digits come five articles about Mae Brussell. The universes in which we live, breathe, and perceive Vallee says, is in fact nothing more than a "process by which informational associations are retrieved and traversed." In a universe of coincidence, weird phenomena would be "expected, even common," writes Vallee, "and UFOs would lose much of their alien quality." Anyone who understood even a little of this abstruse concept could figure out a way to manipulate those phenomena for their own presumably nefarious purposes. Vallee, like Katz, finds most contactee and UFO study groups rife with spies from the government and other quarters more difficult to discern.

Their purpose is beyond investigation, almost as much so as that of the UFOs themselves. "Contactee systems often include belief in higher races and in totalitarian systems that would eliminate democracy," Vallee notes. The cults he investigated are prone to theories of their own racial superiority based on presumed descent from the 'star children.' The social consequences of those beliefs are not cheerful to contemplate. Katz concludes that the teleology of the UFO phenomenon could be the inauguration of a global monarchy. Vallee is less specific. "If the Manipulators do exist, I certainly salute their tenacity, but I am curious about their goals," he says. "One would like to know more, then, about the image of humanity such manipulators harbour in their own minds - and in their hearts. Assuming, of course, that they do have hearts."

26. Global monarchy?
I think we're in it.

"They've" been working at establishing it for 50 years and finally
have succeeded in 2000. These are the same people behind G-8 and the
current monarch is of the same lineage which tried to overthrow Roosevelt as a traitor to his "class". That "class" liked, loved feudalism, low wages, non-unionized labor, no social security, no taxes for the rich, giving them superior advantage over the working man who had to faun and grovel to keep or get a job at whatever wage
the rich man was willing to pay, and was often dependent on the rich man for housing on his property. Think back to to the 20's when salaries were $5 a week. Google Tuxedo Park, New York which was originally built by one of the railroad tycoons with houses for his workers.

Think the English feudal system; think Catherine the Great and "Let them eat bread" - It's accomplished.

One wonders IF there will be a similar "French Revolution" or civil war and WHEN the people will wake up.
